I know. I just wanted it a little bit further out. I don't like things getting too flashy, or too far from an OEM+ look, so this is pretty perfect for me.
I.. didn't, would you like to see my resume or photos of my electronics lab? Probably more impressive is our electronics lab at the office.
There's no possible way to do this safely - as I said in my first post, "it won't be for very long" where I meant about the duration of your dyno pull and...
Right --- that was what I was alluding to when I mentioned how simple the EPROMs are. They are not hard to overwrite or clone and replace. The wastegate is controlled electronically, right? With a 0-5v input control on the servo. I have the oscilloscope plugged into a JB4 unit -- right now...
I can't really agree on this point, though. Licensing is really fucking hard. In my work I've dealt with licensing software I've written, my team has written, patenting things, and more. It's hundreds of hours of legal work, due diligence, finding proof of lack-of-prior-art, and other legal...
Potentially great question. I am curious about their actual motivations on this as well. I don't think that either confirms or denies that it's possible or that they did it. I guess internet points/reputation or something along those lines if it's real. If it's not real -- I don't understand why...
Oh, yeah. I know you didn't say patent, I said patent. It's -incredibly- hard to license without a patent (hence why my name is on a couple). It's easier if you have a provisional patent, but it's nearly impossible to license a non-physical (software is typically considered this in courts...
Carbon fiber factory front lip replacement:
I'm doing a test fit for a vendor in this photo. There are a few imperfections, and I'll probably replace it with an updated version after they tweak it a little bit. It's generally good, needs small improvements.
I see what you're saying, but.. sort of. You can't exactly patent something like this. Cracking or Unlocking (see jailbreaking) has been dismissed in court as patentable. If you "licensed" the technology you'd basically have to license on faith that whoever you license to - or whoever receives...
You are aware of how simple the EPROMs of the JB4 unit themselves are, right? From what I can tell with the multimeter going into the oscilloscope, the JB4 unit does literally nothing but alter the voltages provided by the sensors. Based on some simple napkin math and an understanding of high...
Na - not new to this. I've been banging on cars for a while, not as long as many folks, somewhere around 2001 I started wrenching hard. You can 100% keep the wastegate closed until you hit the max amount of boost, starve the fuel system, and blow shit to pieces. You can definitely hit more than...
You can adjust boost pressure with JB4 across the powerband. You can easily add 100hp. Probably more. The engine might not survive, but you can definitely keep cranking the boost still she blows.
I am. I'll be the guinea pig you all want. It's just a car, worst case it blows up? I can live with that. Unless it REALLY blows up -- I guess I might not live through that -- either way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's shitty, but at the end of the day, I'd just pay the $48- unless it takes forever. That's the biggest problem. If you're getting it overnight, you're going to waste more then $48 of your time and energy calling around trying to find it.
