there's more to it than a tcu tune.. don't use launch control (it's horrific), seek a custom tune (you mention boost 'randomly kicks in'), and: although i advise DO NOT turn off VSC until you are confident with your launches. the goal is to get the car back home, yeah?

depending on the downpipe design, you can swedge/swage the OEM section up to 3.5", or cut the OEM section and be left with a 4" section

you own one of the best MTs available today. don't stress it. this little inconvenience gives the car personality, youknowwhatimean

the platform shouldn't be your main concern.. the correct answer is finding which tuner will work with ACN91 and is willing to put the work to fulfill your needs, not leave you hanging, not wait months between revisions, etc.
