Not answering OPs question but it is definitely one that I have had and so I appreciate the responses here, and am hoping to just add the question of:
Is any reliability lost with the ECU needing to adjust and remain adjusted to a catted or catless downpipe? I imagine any change in reliability...
Just over 2500 miles on my car now with no slipping. Have been very nice to the clutch with the exception of some spirited shifting at times. Now that others are mentioning the car being down on power at times, it does feel like there's an occasional moment here or there where it doesn't just...
I'm being dead serious when I say that I'm absolutely sure that I'd take that in a second over some those fricken big wings like the streethunter.... but hey, different strokes for different folks I guess.
The vents grab my eye from time to time - I only have a minor issue with the front fender and bumper ones because the body of the Supra is one of the (relatively) few things that was uniquely Toyota's but it was a compromise that I accept for everything else the car is. In the end, no vehicle is...
Before the leaked photos of the M2 came out, I was inquiring about putting a deposit on one. I had been looking at the M3/M4 but there were substantial wait times to have a M3 built of over a year. I was told 6 months to wait for building a M4 that still had the older idrive for 2023 so I...
Sweet!! Thanks. Now I'll just sound annoying for asking the other side of the question but can sport mode re-engage rev matching if traction control is completely off? Or is once traction control off is rev matching gone for good?
I could be wrong but I think the only way it can be turned off is in sport mode individual where you can uncheck the rev matching in that menu. Hopefully I've missed something... Ideally I'd be able to turn off rev matching in normal mode but it seems the only way for this to approximate normal...
Bless you for testing this. I haven't gone faster than 155 and that was in a 2008 STi (on the autobahn, of course). To be young and have some cajones....that STi surprised me at how stable it was at that speed but I imagine the Supra feels pretty darn stable in comparison up there....just...
I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned other than some brief mentions of FCA, but I've been in several states and the small Jeeps like the Compass, Wrangler, and Renegade are ALWAYS speeding like they have 1,000 HP. Interestingly, Cherokees aren't nearly as bad... those people that buy the...
I haven't run into this at all but I only have about 1400 miles, probably a little less now. Like others mentioned, reverse was a bit tough but in reading as much as I could about the MT before I got the car I was expecting that. It has loosened up a bit. Second to third is smooth for me so far...
Lol, exactly how I feel at the end there so you're not alone on that. I will never understand why people do dangerous shit or just generally drive fast to get to a red light and then have you sitting behind them....what does that even prove! Wasted gas and look like a fool while managing to make...
Haven't really got any looks so far. I had one older gentleman see Supra written on the back and he started saying how he liked the MKIII back in the day. I had another guy say "nice little car..." still not sure if that was intended to be an insult or not. I think maybe it makes other people...
I test drove a 21 a while back. Compared to my MT, I do remember the 21 doing some more burbles and stuff. I just got out of the break in period and have been using sport mode and it definitely made a difference but still isn't quite as animated as the 21. I drove a 23 auto real quickly too and...
This happened to me too. Car came off the truck and then i had to wait about 48 business hours and a Sunday for it. Never saw anything like this happen before because dealers usually make every effort to sell the car as quickly as possible (particularly since i had a deposit on it when it was in...
For those enduring the long break in period and doing it by the book like I did - I hit the 1200 mile mark last night on the way home from work. Tldr: was worth the wait.
Oh. My. God. So after some moron sped by me at like 20 over the limit and then we were sitting at the same light anyway...
Wow I did not see that coming at all. To be honest, I was a bit sad about the previous lightning lap times being so close to (and over) 3 minutes and slower than some other cars I would have hoped it was quicker than. Those four seconds make a big difference when considering the times of the...
Silly question but would these work on a 2023? The Toyota parts site lists 2020-2022 so I just wanted to check if anyone knew. I imagine they would, but better safe than sorry!
Wow i didnt expect that. I have a manual and that car sounds stock too. I don't know how in the world it would have a gearing advantage over the auto when the auto has two more gears but maybe that's it? I'm sure someone will have objective information on that. It does seem to pull like crazy in...
Thanks for the input everyone. The times that this is most noticeable is when I'm going up my driveway which has a slight incline and I'm trying to fit it through the garage door opening and when I'm trying to reverse on an incline or decline...so I'd say it seems pretty safe to say it's the...
