  1. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Unnecessary. GT3 racecars have limits on power, BoP, etc etc. I'd say the GR GT would compete marketwise with the 911 Turbo S and the GT3... There may be a GRMN GT that competes with the GT3RS (remember the fixed wing test mule that was NOT the GT3 version?) Anyway, as much as Toyoda says...
  2. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Side note; While this may be Tooyta's first production all aluminum chassis, I wonder how much lessons were learnt producing the original LFA's "first draft" chassis that were applied to this :hmm:
  3. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

  4. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

This got me at first. I was also expecting it to be a full hybrid, not just a mild hybrid. However when you look at where this is aimed in the market, it is actually on the lighter side of the spectrum. Shocking, I know (I still wish it would be lighter, but alas...). I don't think it's really...

These actually aren't bad. No center exhaust though. Cnter light, 4 exhaust tips.

Also, Motor 1 has an interior pic (enhanced version on their page)
  9. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Pics dropped since yesterday, nobody has up a render yet? Damn, slacking. LOL
  10. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

TBH i wouldn't mind seeing the current gen prius kitted up and with a WEC hypercar inspired, plug-in hybrid drivetrain. That would slap. Hard. AWD, electro turbocharged 400ish hp? Yes please.
  11. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

Because that is what it cost in Europe (100k in Japan)? I see now that the US got a dialed down version at a much lower cost.
  12. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

*IF* Toyota produced the Celica, MR2 **and** A supra, I prmise you the Supra will scratch $100k, especially if it's done in house. They knew what they were ding with the BMW alliance. Note that the "Mk 5 Final edition" will be $155k.
  13. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

Or the "Morizo spec" of an updated GR Corolla? The front bumper looks like the updated Yaris bumper.
  14. Toyota Teases GR Line Up: Supra MK6, Celica MK8, MR2 MK4, 86 MK3 and GR GT

My take on all this? Celica and MR-2 will share a platform if they do bring both to the market. Celica will come in at the top end of the GR Yaris/GR Corolla price point MR-2 Will be at the current Mk5 Supra price point Next Supra will go up in price. Maybe it may even have a Lexus version to...
  15. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

    Low key rubbish, because of homologation requirements for GT3. With respect to the race cars; With respect to road cars;
  16. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Okay, but the LFA wasn't a 911 competitor was it? LFA type cars don't come along very often from Tooyta/Lexus and that's my point.
  17. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Side note. I hate that we've adopted calling this car the LFR (ick.... even more ick cause of who popularized calling it such). I don't think this car is LFA levels of bespoke. It would of course out perform it by a country mile, but LFA is not. The LFA replacement is likely the EV super car...
  18. Toyota Gazoo Racing World Premieres GR GT & GR GT3

Outside Testing This car could probably be ready to race next year, but the holdup is probably the street car. Obviously, a GT3 car cannot be homologated without a road going version.
  19. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

Oh this I know. I'm just saying would be nice. Even if it's something along the line of a beefed up A90/A91 Edition model. Not sure the market is there for anything with much more volume than that anyway.
  20. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

Also, I don't think there is any necessity whatsoever in having the S58 installed. A properly fettled B58 will do absolutely everything that would be needed, and while I don't mind being proven wrong, I doubt BMW would let an S58 into anything but an M car.
