  1. Battery

That’s cool. I knew about the algorithm and having to reset it when a new battery is installed but I was not aware that you could specify the ah for a different battery type. Seems the aftermarket options are viable now.
  2. Battery

Good to know. I said it couldn’t be jumped, which seems to be the case with these. Haven’t tried to recharge one with a charger.
  3. Any MKV Owners Coming from a Dual Clutch Trans Car?

I’m coming from a 2016 S4 which was the last year they had DSGs and not the ZF auto from 2017+. Not the best dual clutch but the ZF seems better all around in both the newer S4 and the Supra. Definitely less clunky off the line and at low speeds where a DSG can be really wonky. The DSG would...
  4. Battery

We’ll see what happens. In the BMW community, people have installed aftermarket batteries, but usually they get sucked dry in about a year. Don’t know if someone has figured out how to avoid this, but it seems it’s too soon to sound the all clear.
  5. A dealer has a Supra in concrete, a new color. Has anyone seen this?

Phantom looks cool but I wouldn’t want to have to care for matte paint. The manual cautions about proper care and cleaning...
  6. Battery

BMW manufactures their own batteries. Pro tip for those who haven’t experienced them - once they’re dead they can’t be jumped, and you need to replace it with a BMW battery because they have a computer chip that tells the ECU how much charge it has. The cars will pull harder on an older battery...
  7. Key fob setting off alarm when locking

Not for nothing; but why are you even using the fob? Just touch the door handle and you’re all set.
  8. Left low beam malfunction

That’s entirely possible - I picked my car up Sept 19 but it was right after the dealer got it. If your car sat for a few weeks it’s possible it was built earlier than the bad run of PCBs.
  9. Left low beam malfunction

So this is getting messy. Thanks to you guys, I now know that I should expect some concessions. Thing is, replacement locks me into the original price. I just initiated buyback which will extend time to resolution another 30 days... also, Toyota can’t guarantee that the vehicle they shipped to...
  10. Left low beam malfunction

Once they’re fixed I have no doubt they’ll all be titled in states that don’t carry a lemon designation on the title. Should basically be fine once repaired - mine has 355 miles on it so basically new.
  11. Left low beam malfunction

Thanks. I’m already at 103 days as of today.
  12. Left low beam malfunction

Care to ballpark what “extensive discounts” are? I would like to be able to compare to what my dealer puts in front of me.
  13. Left low beam malfunction

Yeah, I know that lemon laws are specific to the state, so they may have the leeway in your home state. Apparently I must be given the identical configuration by law in Virginia.
  14. OEM Turbo Price!

I’ve heard of guys being asked to swap BMW engines for cause and the bill was mid $20K range. Don’t know details though.
  15. Left low beam malfunction

We’ll see. I’m barely expecting to come out of this “even”.
  16. OEM Turbo Price!

    Two words: Extended Warranty
  17. New (and old) SupraMKV members say hello!

Congrats! Very nice! I’ll be receiving my second one in a couple of weeks (mine went into the shop after 2.5 weeks and has been there nearly 4 months). At least I get to experience the fun of a new car twice!
  18. Gifts & Goodies From TOYOTA & Dealers

I wonder if I’ll get a second set of gifts and NASA membership since they’re replacing my car with a new one...
  19. Left low beam malfunction

I got a call today from the Toyota contact, she said the car is coming with my exact build sheet - stating that by law it has to be identical. She also said the VP of the Koon’s Automotive group is involved and keeping tabs on this which is a solid bit of oversight by the dealership. She also...
