I’m sort of retired now, on terminal leave, DD214 in hand and landed a dream role I’ve been playing phone tag with since May. I figured now was as good as time as any to just do it. The office is roughly 60 miles one way so it is going to get some...
I ended up buying this MMI from Road Top at the suggestion of another forum member... https://roadtop.com/products/bmw-z4-wireless-carplay?variant=43132229026035
Will I also need the MHD universal adapter and will I need to follow the same AUX coding regimen?
I actually have a magnet mounted just in front of my hazard warning button on the dash where I stick my phone so I can keep it plugged in and charging easier as well as much easier to grab if I need it. Those look fairly handy though although I don't typically carry a ton of stuff.
I did get...
...if I remember right. Instructions are here: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/coding-aux-audio-with-bimmercode.10978/
I personally connect my phone via Bluetooth to both the car and the MMI device and have audio out through Bluetooth instead of the MMI unit, so I don't believe Aux audio out...
The way I understand it is Fuel-it just displays e-content on your phone, like a read-only file, where as the MHD fuel analyzer reads/sends info to the DME to allow your ecu to adjust the flex tune based on e-content.
...this super handy tool online—https://ruler.onl/, an online ruler. I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be a game-changer! I was able to pull it up right on my phone while I worked on my project, and it was spot on. It saved me so much time, and I didn’t even need to get another tool.
Thanks for the tip.... the wifi was the key. I got it to connect and reconnect on start up. Sometimes I need to press the steering wheel phone icon if the sound doesn't sync automatically.
...forum have one from this brand as they are reliable and easily available.
Then you will need to download the OBDLink app from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android). I have both and each works well with the car (you can use the app in other cars, too. Unfortunately, not all cars seem...

Not perfect, but here’s what I ended up with. Pulled the stupid flap out first, then tried a few different mounts and ended up with this one. Bought an 6” flat cord and it snaps into the back of the mount to hold it there. Phone stays in place really well and is usable if...
...be re named " I bought a Sportscar but need an SUV interior" to carry all my shit around.
When I drive the Supra I have with me a mobile phone, that's it. Cockpit has plenty of room for my needs. If I need fluids I stop for a coffee/water/beer. I see no need to eat in a car, ever. My drink...
You can add anything to the proclip bracket. It's plastic, you can bolt/screw/stick anything to it. I use two in my Supra, one for my phone while datalogging and one for my Garmin Catalyst.
You can see them in action in my videos...
...a bit hazy, but you have to specifically request help through Supra Connect, not Toyota's general app support/line. Supra connect has their own phone support number if memory serves.
Like I said though, this app is insanely clunky and poorly designed so part of it (if not more) can likely be...
All stock save the tune. On the BMW Forums, no one is getting passed with a DP as it will throw a check engine light as well as fail the visual.
IF you want to check the readiness, grab your Android phone, OBD2 adapter and the Torque App. When you are computer ready, you'll see the top results.
Just picked me up a new iPhone 16 Pro Max this past Tuesday after being stuck on Android for the last 15+ years so maybe someone can give me some insight as to how well Apple CarPlay works with our cars.
Currently it seems like if I have any sort of Navigation going (I primarily use Google...
