  1. How do you get the Oil Level Check to work

...Around here, they essentially have no idea how to work on a "BMW". Maybe big cities are different, but not around here. Anyway, as soon as I actually get it into the dealer and they figure out what's wrong and the fix (which we know will probably be the oil pump), I will update this thread.
  2. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

The video was very good, I am worried about my pump too and am holding off on doing anything until this issue gets addressed. Some have the issue around 10k, ive heard even 30k miles as well. Suck that it has to be like this but I'd rather be safe than sorry, not risking the warranty I had to...
  3. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

...issues a pass/fail outcome which determines whether or not you're eligible for the warranty. In the video that I made that another user shared, I have the full parts list that it took to do this job. It's a lot more than just the oil pump. There's also about $400 in one time use fasteners ?‍?
  4. How do you get the Oil Level Check to work

@kern417 — I’m unable to get any oil read out in BimmerLink at any time. From your research and videos on this, could this be reflective of an oil sensor issue separate from the pump? Appreciate any thoughts you have on this.
  5. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

As I said I'm tuned so my warranty won't be useable. My main concern is paying out all this money to find I have the upgraded part already. US and EU cars aren't the same so it's a possibility that we have the upgraded part over here as it was already in use on the Z4's over here in 2019/20...
  6. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

I went through this whole song and dance with my 2020 MY in Canada. The oil pump is most likely the culprit and I highly doubt your car has the updated pump from factory. If you are under warranty you should get this sorted out with them. As my car was producing oil pressure related issues. Just...
  7. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

So this is pretty hilarious but I got quoted £1350 from Toyota for the Oil Pump (pn 15100-WAA03). So I called BMW and asked the price on their Oil Pump (pn 11419895359) and they quoted me £419. That's less than a third of the price!
  8. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

Yep as I said I've done all this and it's in line with a perfectly good oil pump. My cars under warranty but I'm tuned so it's not gonna work out for me I'll have to get any work done by an indie garage.
  9. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

First time watching that oil pump video. Excellent DIY step by step instructions. That little 5’4” gal put 90% of us to shame with her capabilities. I was even a little skeptical about doing the work myself. ? -RJM
  10. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

You can do this with Bimmerlink. You can view and log oil pressure. You can also view and log oil level.
  11. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

Yes, @Faye ordered the 15100-WAA03 pump from a Toyota dealer and received the 11419895359 part:
  12. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

Also does anyone know for sure if the BMW Z4 Oil Pump 11419895359 is the exact same? It's less than half the price than from Toyota here in UK
  13. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

...the updated pump. Also - my oil pressure doesn't really go up while doing the measuring test which others said is a tell tale sign of an oil pump starting to fail. It stays around the 3-3.3 bar mark Thirdly - there are no stories of failed pumps over here in UE/UK that I can find. All the...
  14. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

You have a 2020 though, you won't have the updated oil pump is what I'm guessing. It probably shows that you have the updated pump because they've moved towards that moving forward?
  15. Can't measure oil - have updated oil pump (WAA03)

...30 mins, flat surface, letting it cool down etc but keeps stopping at 18-20%. I know everyone here is going to tell me I need an updated Oil pump but here's the kicker - My car already has the metal WAA03 pump which was confirmed by Toyota today using my VIN number. It seems that others in...
  16. How do you get the Oil Level Check to work

it's linked to pressure being too high, not necessarily oil being too hot. with the new oil pump, it will do a better job of controlling oil pressure so you won't experience the high pressure scenario that puts the measurement system outside of it's tolerance. that's why it fails at 16%. oil...
  17. Razorlab - 2020 LE build thread

Cool, if your pump is still happily going after 22k hard fought track miles I feel a bit better on mine carrying on after 9k normal (ish) road miles! ? With the bits you are doing at the moment, what do you think the performance increase will be over last season? You must be seriously hitting...
  18. Razorlab - 2020 LE build thread

Yes, I am. However I am keeping an eye on it because I am sure I will need to replace it at some point. The car has relatively low miles, about 22k miles, although a lot of them are track miles. The car has over 65 track days on it at this point. I have also used the forbidden fruit 5w40 oil...
  19. Razorlab - 2020 LE build thread

I have a question! Are you still running the original oil pump? I saw a couple threads pop up about this where our early 2020 cars supposedly have dodgy pumps with plastic parts in them which seems a pretty strange thing to do!
  20. How do you get the Oil Level Check to work

99.9% chance it’s a failing oil pump. Mine did the same thing.
