  1. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

I suppose you can take solace in the fact that this will only be for Rally1 (WRC ) class cars, and Rally2 (R5) cars should still follow the ld school format?
  2. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

2022 cars are going to be space frame cars. This is a world away from actual homologation type cars and their racing counterparts. That being said, yes, of course it will be the closest thing to a modern rally car you can buy for the street (as that concept slowly fades into history)
  3. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

That's what I thought at first, however, if you take a look at the regs for 2022, you'll realize what I'm saying is correct. It will likely look very much like a GR Yaris...... but it will also be far removed from one.
  4. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

GRMN cars have always been very limited. I think the biggest run so far has been the Yaris GRMN with 400 units IIRC. It's also been the only one sold outside Japan. Everything else has been 50-350 (first GRMN Mark X was 100, second Gen was 350)... What pops is that it also had a 6 speed manual...

Sounds a lot like a GR SuperSport :dunno:
  7. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

So.... The GR Yaris will no longer be fielded in next years WRC. With the covid 19 pandemic and debut of new Rally 1 regulations in 2022, it seems that it's not practical to concurrently develop this season's car, the GR WRC car for 2021 and the 2022 Rally 1 car. This effectively renders the...
  8. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

Other GRMN cars have set the precedence for manual transmissions. No guarantee of course, but also, so far the GRMN brand has been about ultimate enjoyment, rather than ultimate performance numbers. :dunno: What I'd really like to see is both a GT4 street trim (top of the numbers game) and a...
  9. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

Nah. 25k of this particular model because of how different it is.
  10. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

  11. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

Banging. The waiting list for these is gonna be a mile long.
  12. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

Literally made my afternoon.:lol: With regard to Toyota or JK never refuting the claims..... maybe they don't have a compulsive need to prove ppl wrong on the internet? Especially regarding a claim that was made years after the Supra and the 2JZ finished production.... hence having no...
  13. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

Well. This thread escalated quickly... unsubbed. :nixon:
  14. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

    OMFG that sounds orgasmic.
  15. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

1 - Source? 2- Toyota owns a stake in Yamaha and that partnership has been producing some the base for some of their best motors since the 2000GT. Higashi-Fuji TC and TMG does the rest. Other than that I share you basic sentiment.
  16. Updated GR Yaris with Automatic debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

Super Taikyu car. Not exactly "Tuner"
  17. SupraMKV Interview with Tada-San on 2021 GR Supra

I agree with most of your post, except that I feel like the 86 really doesn't need a turbocharged engine. 240hp, sure.... but let it be NA please.
  18. FIA Hypercar Class losing manufacturers (but not Toyota)

Seems like Toyota plan to stick with the formula. Parts already in production. Too far to turn back now. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/02/21/toyota-to-continue-with-wec-hypercar-effort-as-planned.html
  19. FIA Hypercar Class losing manufacturers (but not Toyota)

Been reading about this drama all morning. Hope both the race and road car get to see the light of day.
