Just want to give an update, it has been a month now, and I have not had the clunking noise come back.

Did you replace it with the one on the right?

I just found that forum, bought the tool. I think I need to tighten it because on turns I can feel that dead spot in corners. But, ill give both a try, tight and loose. Hopefully that solves that issue.

Hello Y'all, I have a issue with the steering wheel binding in curvy roads. I can be going any speed, and when turning it feels like a dead spot, and when straightening it out, it feels like it is binding. Sometimes when I have the wheel turned at a curve, I have to straighten it a bit...

Reason why I created this tbh. Wanted to see if others had any success with a replacement. If not, not worth having the dealership causing more issues.

190lb, 5'9 on a good day. No, the seat is not touching the brace. I sat in the passenger seat as well, and no noise, just the driver side.

I checked the bolts, everything is tight. The seat does not move back and forth. It only makes a clunk when sitting. But once seated, no noise. I haven't had the noise come back, maybe I had to "break it in" since it is new.

I have not gone to the dealership. The Toyota location that I do want to take it too, is booked this whole summer. Might take it to them in October or November. Also waiting to see if st4ck0v3rfl0w was able to get it resolved.

Mine is intermittent now. For a week it has not made a noise. But, it sure is annoying.

Tint shop probably did not cover the dash, and water made it down to the electronics.

I thought it might have been the plastic clips that is holding the leather together below. Maybe one is loose, or rubbing somewhere. I stuck my phone in there recorded all the areas when sitting and it all looks fine. But keep us posted, would like to know if the issue gets resolved.

I thought that as well, I tried to replicate it on the passenger seat and no noise. The driver seat when I have it raised all the way to the top, no noise. But halfway to all the way down it will make the noise.

It is that clunk noise. Everytime I get in, it always makes that noise. But once I am in, there is no noise.
