I don't know if perfect is the right way to put it, but personally I am a big fan of doing the 275/35-19 and 295/35-19 as it maintains a similar stagger to the OEM (255 / 275) tire setup just wider!
I'm a little late to the party, but hopefully this information is still helpful.
On stock suspension you're pretty much capped at a 10-inch wide wheel on these cars up front. It's EXTREMELY close and very tire sizing specific. Meaning a 275/35-18 might clear, but a 275/40-18 will rub and that's...
The sidewalls on the rears are slightly taller, so you'll see a tiny bit of rake, but nothing crazy. This is a common tire size we see folks run on our wheels in the same sizing.
Visually, the stretch should be about the same front to rear with this setup. It's usually just 295s on 11-inch...
So I would say that Flow Formed VS-5 looks about 90% the same as Forged VS-5RS.
For us that look at our wheels every day, we'd notice it immediately. For the average car enthusiast, they might miss it at first glance, but if they're really checking out your car they'll pick it up. For non-car...
Wheel diameter is only part of the equation when it comes to barrel clearance. The barrels aren't often something we think to look at when considering a wheel, but there's actually quite a few differences in barrel design among the wheels out there.
I can say that all of our GR Supra...
My gut feeling is that you'll need additional negative camber up front. For our 11-inch wide wheels with a +40 offset, we consider camber required for that fitment and it actually sits about 4mm more inboard than your proposed setup. So you'd technically have worse fender clearance.
Obviously...
Go to any track day (at least here in the U.S.) and you'll find us all over the paddock areas. This isn't to just shade any particular brand, but whether or not I worked for Apex I'd caution switching from a wheel brand that is proven to handle abuse to one that isn't.
Your wheels and tires are...
This car is running 265/35-19 up front and 295/30-19 Pilot Sport 4S in the rear. Same width wheels 9.5" and 10.5" respectively.
Usually the difference between section width and tread width is what gives a tire that more rounded versus squared off look. With shorter sidewalls, that look tends to...
The 285s on something like a Pilot Sport will still be visibly stretched in the rear. Mild stretch, but still stretch nonetheless.
I recommend jumping up to a 295 out back if you haven't bought already.
Our crowd favorite ML-10RT is back. We’ve discounted all ML-10RTs to 15% off across the board while select fitments and finishes are discounted even more deeply, up to 25% off. With free shipping included on these wheels for the lower 48 US states, now is your chance to lock in a deep discount...
Satin Bronze will always make the cut as long as I work here.
Everything else though, you'll have to wait and see! We've got a couple of genuine surprises in store for this one.
Hey friends.
So I do have a less-than-exciting update to share. The 5-Spoke wheel has been delayed and we're currently estimating a launch around May.
Personally, I'm not super thrilled myself because each delay means I also have to wait longer for my own wheels. It's also not fun to have to...
Soon! Keep an eye out early next month for our official announcement. We've got a couple other new designs in the oven too, so it's worth checking in for!
It comes down to tire model and how stretch averse some folks are for sure! On some of these 200TW tires, those really would be mild stretch sizes.
For something like the Potenza Sport, I'd definitely suggest going with a wider tire if you don't want meaningful visible stretch.
Yes, this wheel is definitely on the way! We're aiming for the initial release later this year, but should be making our official announcement soon, so keep an eye out!
275/35-19 and 295/35-19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S! I don't know exactly how much it's been lowered, but I'll reach out to the owner and see if I can get an update!
