Has anyone looked at fitting 18" wheels on the final editions with the bigger brakes (374mm rotors)? Googling says 18's do fit on the M lite cars but from a quick look at my current factory wheel clearance has the barrel about 3/8" away from the calipers. Is the barrel on an 18" a full half inch smaller or does the barrel stay relatively the same diameter and its just the outer edge that is a different size?

i'm about to put the 374mm calipers on my M240i and I have like 4 sets of 18's. I can test fit but I don't think 18's fit.

Thanks that would be awesome. I don't happen to have any 18's hanging around, just 17 and 19.

Wheel diameter is only part of the equation when it comes to barrel clearance. The barrels aren't often something we think to look at when considering a wheel, but there's actually quite a few differences in barrel design among the wheels out there.

I can say that all of our GR Supra compatible 18-inch wheels clear these brakes, but if you're looking at a different wheel manufacturer you might want to contact someone over there directly to confirm.

Depends on the wheel, as not all 18" wheels have the same clearance. For example (if I remember right) 18" RPF-1's do not fit over the stock non-FE calipers, but there's quite a few other 18" wheels that users here run for track days that do fit. The difference from one wheel to another can be pretty significant.

Thanks for the confirmation. P.S. waiting to see what those new 5 spoke's look like when you can share and if they fit these big brakes ;)

Yes it looks like its going to be very wheel specific. I was just looking at pictures and this is rwense's and there's not a ton of room with the smaller brakes, probably not enough for the bigger one's
