Talked to the dealer, initial intro and boring stuff. Didn't explain my reason for asking about that model. Come back 3 days later and the price is higher. I'm guessing the dealer figured out why people are targeting those models.

True, the best and brightest dont....But you don't necessarily create new security layers. You buy them and that's what OEMs are doing. They are just carrying over practices that have been standard in IT for some time now.

As someone who has sat in on those security presentations for another OEM....No one is telling Bosche to hold back on security. Depending on the engineering architecture, they could legitimately not provide a way to unlock ever. I'm calling parallel setups are going to be the future

That's the spirit more people need on this topic. Im not sure it will be cracked based on what I know of the industry and the direction OEMs are going. I think more parallel units will be the norm going forward. Pick and choose your input and outputs and leave the security nonsense alone.
