  2. Toyota Racing Reveals the NASCAR Supra!

Agree that NASCAR body style looks severely outdated and the selected livery color scheme didnā€™t do it any favors drawing your eye to the awful looking blended roofline. However, strictly from a marketing standpoint they want the Supra to have as much exposure and compete in as many forms of...

  4. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

Multiple areas of downward slope from the hood (rounded like you said) . Look at this view
  5. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

I agree with what you are saying, my point is the area seen directly below the side mirror will slope down and away from the hood to the top of the wheel well giving the car a much sleeker appearance from all angles.
  6. A80 Toyota Supra

For the rear of the 4th Gen Camaro itā€™s like GM saw the NSX and was like yeah weā€™ll just do that instead.
  7. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

That fender area appears to be padded and would likely be slimmer and then rise up toward the hood of the car (like most modern designs do). I was hoping this car would use something similar to the pop up hood on the LC. I would love to know how much weight that system adds. Even with a thicker...
  8. A80 Toyota Supra

Quick video showing each successive generation of the Supra. I will update with some older ads and other relevant info through the years. While there are so many threads discussing all of the aspects of the development of the MKV I wanted to specifically put together one inclusive of the...
  9. Interview Questions for Detroit from the Fans

Looks ok but Itā€™s a class of car Iā€™m not that interested in. Full size FWD. I have owned Camrys in the past then moved on to Lexus sedans (IS, GS) for the same reliability and better driving dynamics. Tell them they need to make another ISF with a 6-speed manual :)
  10. Will visibility be an issue on the Supra?

6th Gen Camaro (poster child for bad visibility) New NSX NA 1 NSX (extremely low cowl height MR design and without all of safety regulations. GT86 Traditionally sport cars being lower and having lower rooflines meant side and rear visibility was compromised. For forward vision now...
  11. Wish List for the new Supra / Must Have Futures and Options!

*allow the buyer to spec out individual car to their liking vs. the dealer just checking off every box to max out price *Mechanical LSD *Allow all of the driver aiding, fun robbing tech to be easily disabled. (One button) *Do not artificially weight steering *If there are different driving...
  12. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

Regarding the double bubble roof, while I think the renders from Mike and Supra93 look awesome Iā€™m not sure the roof will be that exaggerated and will likely be more subtle in actual form. Sure not trying to criticize because I think their work has been excellent and far better than what the...
  13. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

I donā€™t see it because itā€™s too upright like an RC, in fact the Q60 and RC are within an inch of each other in every dimension. For this car the roof height and hood being 3ā€™ā€™ lower will make all the difference.
  14. Interview Questions for Detroit from the Fans

The FT-1 was a design study not a working prototype: Toyota FT-1 Concept Length- 4,675 mm (184.05 in) Width- 1,970 mm (77.55 in) Height: 1,225 mm 48.22 in) Wheelbase: 2,740 mm (107.87 in) Based on GT6 it had 485-521hp and weighed 2910 lbs It had been said that the FT-1 had exaggerated...
  15. Toyota Supra to be launched in 2019 under Gazoo performance brand GR / GRMN related topics

While the base Corvette will always offer a great value for horsepower a new ZR1 will likely be a 135-150k car. I think the competition in terms of price range 60-100k will be from the higher end Camaros/Mustangs to the near 100k sports cars (base Carrera, Evora 400, F Type , Cayman etc.) with...
  16. Interview Questions for Detroit from the Fans

...lucky enough to be getting the 6speed. If thatā€™s true thatā€™s all that remains for me in terms of a deal breaker. All of the other hurdles for what I want from this car, the looks, the low weight, power to weight ratio etc. appear to be on par for what I wanted. The actual release date...
