New update is live on both android and apple app stores (it may take little bit of time to show it up for some)
MHD EasyInstall CANBUS FlexFuel kits are also available and in stock and ready to ship same day
1) You can always flash back to stock with MHD, if it fails flashing due to DME needing an unlock
2) The app notifies you a few times that you have locked version before you start flashing
3) You can search for unlock partner on MHD website, partners section
Unlock depends on DME production date and software update in it,
You can check it with MHD app, "Unlock Check" button, it doesn't need a license,
More info:
There are two types of locks
1) First type - Let's call it "software lock", DMEs produced before 06.2020 (except a few exceptions) that...
yes, Original DME is getting partially unlocked.
Partial unlock means - Calibrations only (maps) can be modified, tuned,
Program changes can not be done (necessary for FlexFuel, on the fly map switching, antilag, etc)
there was no one single cutoff date, I unlocked late 06.2020 DMEs, and had early 06.2020 that already had a new lock system
Here, you can see three possible results of the MHD "Unlock Check", fourth is "no unlock needed", for old cars
MHD Website is not yet updated for MHD Universal WIFI Adapter,
although it's for sale already
I would say what company to purchase it from as they ship it the same day with USPS Priority,
but I guess ill get banned on this forum as I'm not sponsor, idk what rules are here :) (see link in...
MHD Universal WIFI adapter supports all series, its good for flashing E/F/G series, it also supports EGS3 Flashing with xHP app on new G series and Supras
Bimmercode also supports it (and other apps)
its a good thing to have
The MHD App (MHD F+G) is free on app stores, and you dont need a license to use this function, so it's free
but, you need to somehow connect your phone to the car so the MHD app communicates with the DME and pulls data,
that can be done either by cable (aka ENET cable)
or MHD WIFI adapter
I have unlocked late 06.2020 DMEs, there is no single cutoff date,
easiest way is to check it with MHD app, "Unlock Check" button,
it checks what kind of lock DME has, whether it needs FEMTO or regular bench unlock, it does not check by build date, but by let's say lock mechanism
I understand that there are people who enjoy belittling others' work, but
FEMTO guys have unique set of skills, expertise, and talents,
these guys are different dimension level experts in information security
They were known in the industry for having extraordinary achievements Way before DME...
You don't even consider that they spent countless nights and resources trying to find a workaround (read hack) and had success?
And they only do it on-site, so there is no risk of someone stealing the technology?
If you work in this field and know better than them what and how can be protected, I'm sure they would appreciate the information and pay for it good money.
