I expect you're right, though I would expect making a different case and output shaft with the rest of the internals could be done relatively easily. It's not going to happen, but it could be done, haha.

TSS 2.0 exists with MT's, but of course they aren't using BMW hardware for any of it, so there would definitely be a development cost associated with it.
Reliability/quality/drivability standards are also things to be considered for sure, but I'd love if Toyota just said screw it and gave us...
Sorry, I was a bit loose on the dates as I was using production years and not model years and was sort of grouping the the Avalon/Camry/Solara together.
The 2005 model year Camry used either the 1MZ-FE (3.0L, 210hp) or the 3MZ-FE (3.3L, 225hp) in the SE. That said, the 2GR debuted in the 3rd...
I suppose that's true, 250hp to 260hp for the non-VVT-i and then up to 290/300hp for the VVT-i version, depending on model.
The 2IS debuted in 2005 with the 2GR-FSE and 306hp, the same engine continued into the 3IS in 2013 with 306hp, and was replaced by the 2GR-FKS in 2017 with 311hp. I agree...
The 2GR-FSE had 306hp and was used in the IS350 from 2006-2017, and was replaced by the 311hp 2GR-FKS for 2018-2021.
Lexus does seem to be playing things a bit too conservatively on the engine front these days, but really when haven't they? Lexus used the 1UZ/3UZ engine relatively unchanged for...
I would go 2.0 to get a manual for sure. Can always add the other stuff later...
My Lexus IS250 6MT the day I got it:
New grilles, headlights, side skirts and front/rear spoilers:
Larger front and rear brakes:
3.73:1 open to 4.10:1 Torsen T2 LSD and TRD mounts:
Stiffer shocks...
I could see it being either the V35A-FTS or the 2UR-GSE. The LC500 has the 2UR, the LS500 has the V35A, though I think part of that was that the LC F was supposed to see something more interesting than the 2UR, so then the question becomes do they make an IS500 with the 2UR and an IS F with...
I would like to refer anyone who has a big problem with the 2.0L in the new Supra to the monstrosity that were the 125 hp 1G-E and 160 hp 1G-FE-powered GA70 Supras.
Haha.
Jeff
It's pretty typical to be honest. In the US, buyers associate smaller engines with the "cheap" version, and often want the larger engine or larger car if they're going to add better options.
It's the same reason cars like the Yaris are only sold as the cheap economy version, etc. whereas in...
Not a sports car, but I was very happy to see that the 2021 Ford Bronco is available with a 7-speed manual transmission. Perhaps there is still some hope.

I could be wrong, but I'm about 99.8% sure that every GRMN model to date has been manual transmission, including models that didn't come with a manual transmission (Mark X for example). Of course that will change at some point because, as has been stated, manuals are dying.
Still, I have hope...
I looked into some various bulletins and have found that even for the same colour in the same year, Toyota would sometimes use clear and sometimes not, depending on the factory. For example, 1997 Camry with 202 = single stage, 1998 USA-made Camry with 202 = two stage. 1998 Camry made in Japan...
