I just had my car in to get a leaky tire fixed and when they were bringing it out front of the shop I noticed the third brake light wasn’t working. I bought this car brand new only a few weeks ago so I wouldn’t think the bulb would go bad already. I can call the dealer I’m sure they’d fix this under warranty but it’s 40 minutes each way and I’d rather not if it’s an easy fix I can do.

I’ve already almost been rear ended twice in these 2-3 weeks and I now I know why.
Thanks

Unless you installed a 3rd party one, it doesn't come with a 3rd brake light

It's an led light module so it's not going to be a quick bulb change. If you are not a mechanic I would recommend taking it to the dealer. I saw a video on you tube on how to remove it.

Yes I was talking about the high mount light in the hatch. I don’t even have 500 miles so I’m guessing this light has never worked.
I will definitely contact the dealer I’m sure it will be covered. I just thought maybe there was a quirk with it that the community had figured out if that makes any sense

Yeah you should have a few more years left on your bumper to bumper warranty. I kinda wonder if they didn't code it right. Well whatever the problem is whoever did your PDI needs a talking to. Granted from what others have said on this forum about stuff not working from the factory blows my mind. I think my Toyota dealer in Minnesota just had there bmw tech do it, because there was a bmw dealer right next to the Toyota dealership owned by the same people.

Ok so I figured this out. I came across this video

Basically showing how to remove this light assembly in order to tint the rear glass. Well I had my windows tinted a week after getting the car so I thought maybe they did this and didn’t plug it back in. Opened it up and this exactly what happened. Plugged it in and pressed the brake and it lit right up. ?
