You seeing those reviews....now remember the Supra raped it on the track
That was before Toyota helped them improve their performance though. Any delta at production not due to engine power/torque differences is likely to be small.

Also a concern for me. You can thank Mustang drivers for hitting pedestrians. Truck with modified bullbars are way more dangerous than anything else (if there is anything as non dangerous vehicle-to-pedestrian collision). Sports car are sold in low numbers, cannot they be exempt from pedestrian safety standards
Lol. Itā€™s not the mustang owners. Itā€™s the yuppie loving Prius like quiet vehicles that spawned the whole pedestrian safety regulations.

Regardless, the MKV will be a monster
True. Even if performance turns out to be identical, if Toyota delivers for $10k less than the Bimmer it will be in good shape relative to its competition.

A question remains about the car's styling, whether it is going to be sufficiently appealing to attract enough buyers. Can't judge that without seeing it in person.

I like how it went "911 killer" to "great competition to the boxster"
I donā€™t remember toyota ever claiming to build a 911 killer. All though Iā€™d love that.. but I donā€™t see a company like todayā€™s Toyota ever doing such a thing.

A70 all but confirmed 1380kg (+20kg due to new engine)

And I agree. While I believe Toyota know what they're doing, and it will be a weapon, I think it needs at least 300kW.

I don't want to buy an A90 supra ans have it the least powerful car in the garage.
Here's to hoping Toyota got rid of VANOS

I donā€™t view them as a different company.. do you?
considering A70's comments, they might as well be with how possessive they can be with projects and actually poaching development and ideas from Toyota when they see fit.

On top of this, there's also Lexus most likely never seeking outside help for their vehicles.

Most impressive and hopeful news I've read so far...

"382hp"

So if the Z4 gets 382 hp, i'm expecting the Supra to cross over into the 400's.

Very good news indeed, keep in mind BMW will be releasing an M version aswell, compare this to Gazoo's top trim and we should be all good in the power department.
It's definitely more than 340hp

Considering the current B58 output is as shown below

B58B30M5
265 kW (355 hp) @ 5500-6500 rpm
500 Nā‹…m (369 lbā‹…ft) @ 1520-4800 rpm
year in production (2016-present)

I might have read a bit too much into the articles saying "Toyota benchmarking new Supra against 911"

I will be curious how the Supra compares to the Cayman GTS though - of any generation.

Toyota will not have the B58 though.

That's the current theory yes. But, I'm stating it will have a minimum of those numbers. If they are building a new motor I'd imagine it will have better specs than what the B58 has, no?
