I've always been a die hard boxing fanatic and I boxed for about 20 years. With the war going on in the Ukraine, there are currently 4 hall of fame champion boxers fighting for the Ukraine military.
- Two are retired former champions
- Two are current champions
- Three out of the four men returned to Ukraine specifically to take up arms against Russia and defend their country.
Vitali Klitschko (Current Mayor of Kiev)
Record: 45-2 (41 KOs)
- Former 2-time WBC Heavyweight Champion, WBO Champion and Ring Magazine Champion
- First ballot Hall of famer
Wladmir Klitschko
Record: 64-5 (53 KOs)
- Former unified IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles
- First ballot Hall of famer
Oleksandr Usyk
Record: 19-0 (13 KOs)
- Current unified WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO Heavyweight Champion
Vasiliy Lomachenko
Record: 16-2 (11 KOs)
Amateur Record: 396-1
- Current WBO lightweight Champion
- Referred to as one of the current best pound-4-pound fighters today
- 2-Olympic Gold Medals
I didn't list every single record, medal or trophy each of these men have won, but the strength of their character far exceeds the career accolades they've achieved. Each of them are millionaires and chose to fight for something bigger than themselves.
