Anyone have a secret for to protect the "P" button?

So, i've already noticed the "P" button on my A91 is starting to flake. Anyone know if there is a pre-cut PPF or something that someone sells to apply on top of this to prevent wear? There were several vendors who solved the problem in the VW world where this same issue would happen w/ the start/stop button.

The one on the gear selector or the e-brake button? Imho this is way too early and should call for some warranty work.

Maybe some local Xpel installer can provide you a piece of left over film?

I know but i've seen this on other BMW's as well, IMO it's really a matter of time but yeah, i'm surprised mine is starting to wear already.

Yup mine wore / flaked a bit 21 with 16k (daily driven) miles. I could look into getting vinyl made (have access to a cricut) if anyone thinks it's worth trying.

Pretty sure this is a well known and documented issue going back a long way in the bimmer community. I have vinyl as well, just need to not be lazy and create a template for it.

Save your P by not using it. Just turn the car off and the car will automatically go into park.

Someone laughed at this, and I'm not sure why. When you come to a stop, hit the start/stop button, and the car shifts into park automatically before shut down.

This should be covered under warranty as a defect.
