My shifter on the zf 8 speed has randomly been moving from manual to auto while driving or sitting at a light.

It’s happened on random days and times so far but I can tell it feels too light switching from auto to manual now. Just lightly tapping it can get it to switch back. Has anyone been getting this issue?

You're not pressing any buttons? If you press park it will move the shifter.

Are you touching the paddles at all? That can cause it to change to manual without moving the shifter

I always drive in manual mode, by moving the shifter left on the center console. Problem I’m having is it randomly goes from manual to auto.

I see. Well maybe your car thinks you shouldn’t.

I had this happen to me a couple times during a track day. I assumed it was moving over during hard, left-hand turns.
I haven't had it happen since. I had just bought the car and left all the nannies on. I don't any more, so maybe that was it.
If I remember right, after it would move over, it wouldn't let me use the paddles.
It was very strange and annoying to the point I was looking for a way to fix it by tying the shifter over.
