Why would you want a cam shaft so early in the build though? That is unless you're pushing 700-800 whp and you're going for a built engine.

I would be interested to hear as well, a shame it seems like there arenā€™t gains on the fuel lobe for gen2 B58 cams. Second question if anyone does have a cam, have you pushed the revs up? 7600-8000 would be interesting and make it sound more 2J.

While I donā€™t have any experience with cams on the B58, I do on other cars, and in my experience with engines that have variable valve timing and lift you donā€™t really get any lope from cams. My STI had big Kelford cams in it and it idled just like stock.

Yes. I have cams. Lots of the fast cars do..

The car sounds exactly as youā€™d expect from an inline six with separate intake and exhaust cams. Exactly the same as it did before.

Cams are 1,500. Require completely disassembling the head, and resetting the timing, which requires a special tool.

You see a difference in power from about 6500-7800rpm or so, above 900hp, so unless built motor, itā€™s very silly to put cams in.

With the variable valve timing you are not going to have that ā€œcammedā€ sound you are wanting. Same as in my 18 Mustang I had. It idles the same. UNLESS you find someone to do a ā€œghost camā€ tune. Which I surprised none of the tuners that do the flame tunes donā€™t have a ghost cam tune. But if you are looking for that cammed 2JZ or RB26 sound itā€™s not happening without a tuner making it do that. (If they even can on the B58)
