I would've done the paint-matching hood for $1k, honestly. But 2-3k sounded like a serious rip-off.

If it was an insurance claim, I wouldn't care how much as long as it was done right. But for cosmetic mod, I'd rather wrap the whole car for that crazy price.

I got quotes from 2-3k on paint-matching the hood from 3 well-recommended shops in the DFW area. Two of them said they'd need the car for a "few weeks" to "blend-in" with the other body panels (front bumper and fenders). ??

Wrap quotes were about $500 including material.

However, a buddy of mine got his CF hood paint matched to his Refraction Blue for only $600 and it came out perfect. Go figure. :dunno::what:
That’s what one body shop told me before I found another place. Seemed a little ridiculous
