I would've done the paint-matching hood for $1k, honestly. But 2-3k sounded like a serious rip-off.
If it was an insurance claim, I wouldn't care how much as long as it was done right. But for cosmetic mod, I'd rather wrap the whole car for that crazy price.

That’s what one body shop told me before I found another place. Seemed a little ridiculousI got quotes from 2-3k on paint-matching the hood from 3 well-recommended shops in the DFW area. Two of them said they'd need the car for a "few weeks" to "blend-in" with the other body panels (front bumper and fenders). ??
Wrap quotes were about $500 including material.
However, a buddy of mine got his CF hood paint matched to his Refraction Blue for only $600 and it came out perfect. Go figure.
