Hello all,

Does any B58 catted exhaust off eBay fit on a Supra 2020+ 3.0L?

For example, bmw 540i series etc.

Will this installation throw any cel codes off?

I’m trying to install this for emissions testing. Just curious to see if this would work instead of purchasing Supra stock parts for over a grand.

Also what are the differences between stock components and standard aftermarket 200cell components from VSRF or CTS brands etc. ?

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan!

I am in northern Illinois - I tried to pass catless using Bootmod3 and modifying tables, but I was not able to get one monitor into "NOT READY" -it was still triggering the check engine light.

I have a "bigdaddiesgarage" simulator that you put your secondary oxygen sensor into, but I didn't bother trying to use it as they are not meant to be left in the downpipe for a long time - only to pass emissions.

Instead, I just bought an AMS GESI Catalytic Converter high flow downpipe and was able to pass emissions with no issues - and I also no longer stink like gas and get headaches while driving :)

The difference between the stock downpipe and other offerings is that the stock down pipe actually has TWO catalytic converters in it - one is before the secondary oxygen sensor and the other is after it - it is the reason that it is so big - the sensor is sandwiched.

The 200 cell catalytic converters downpipes will most likely not pass emissions as well as they not converting the exhaust to carbon dioxide/nitrogen and water as well as 400 cell ones and your computer will notice.

There are a couple of solutions that I know will pass emissions: 1) AMS Catted downpipe 2) Active Autowerks catted downpipe and 3) MAP Performance Catted downpipe

As far as other downpipes fitting, I believe you would be looking at any Gen2 B58 6port, such as the M340i and the M240i - regardless you will be paying a lot.

Just so you know you will not be losing much power with a high flow catted AMS option versus catless, and you wont stink like gas and your car will still pop/bang pretty loud :)

Hopefully this helps you!
