I doubt it's possible. You can only get certain parts from other teams. Definitely not whole cars like you used to. Considering the source here (PlanetF1) this is just a bunch of nonsense.

Lots of optimism with that team for sure. Sounds like, from Christian’s point of view, regardless of the car or team (Checo point and case), Max is at another level right now. Interview below, Christian sounds sincere as hell when asked about their success. The Max factor being that winning edge. It’s just his opinion ofc. But I’m starting to believe it as well….This is an interesting article. I wonder how AlphaTauri..... Or I guess it's been reported the name is changing to "Boss" or Boss Orange" .... going to maneuver around the rules for this to work. I'm sure Merc and McLaren will protest this a lot...

And on top of that, Indy cars "cheated" because they didn't have to stay on track.Just for fun I tried the Bing AI search engine and asked it to compare a F1 car with an Indy car. I had to feed it the info. Ask the questions 1st, then ask it to put it in a chart. But still, pretty cool

The average lap time a COTA is what really got me. Phenomenal difference!!!!
Okay… that even tops it!![]()

This is how they took the tight turns, if they followed the exact same line F1 cars did, they'd be at least 5 seconds slower still.
And things like these are why American drivers just don't cut it in F1. They don't get the "education" you get in European series. If they want a good American driver, they need to start really young, and race in Europe. Coming from Indy cars they're just too far behind.Okay… that even tops it!
I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around those lap time differences. Now you add there are no track limits with those Indy car times ? Incredible!!!!
Wait until America ?? finds out & even more start watching F1 ($$$). That Netflix series (for example) 100 days to Indy constantly has drivers, owners, celebrities (David Letterman) stating these are the fastest cars on the planet & motor racing sport. A little research goes a long way. Thx for sharing!

As you noted above, there is quite a bit of difference between the two. But I think there is more than just pure lap times that makes one more appealing than the other.Okay… that even tops it!

Fast is relative. F1 cars are made for cornering. They experience fighter pilot type G forces. Ovals are pretty much never-ending straights. They modified an F1 car, think it was a Honda, for straight line speed and it hit 260something. If F1 cars were purpose built for ovals, I'm sure they'd do well past 270. The tires would be the limiting factor if anything.Fastest motorsports in the world is drag racing. Nothing is faster the TC/FC besides speed trials and thats single car "racing". After that i do believe it is actually Indy car, they hit 240+ before and they hold their top speed much longer around a oval then F1. That said, nothing compares to the lap times a F1 car can do.... EXCEPT.... Porsche took the limits off their 919 LMP1 car and set a track record over LH W09?? car at the time.
I guess my point is, there is always someone faster lol
Exactly this! I love all racing and cars. I just didn’t realize there was as much disparity between Indy & F1 cars HP considering similar weight. I asked a few other fellow car lovers like myself and this certainly isn’t advertised that way over here. After following (discovering) F1 racing, it’s clearly the Pinnical of Motorsports (even my stupid iPad automatically put capital letters there ?).Fast is relative. F1 cars are made for cornering. The Porsche was incredible, it showed what they could do if there were no regulations.
The reason F1 cars are so heavily regulated is simple, if engineers like Newey got free reign, the cars would be SO fast, the world's current tracks couldn't host them. The safety requirements simply aren't there. Runoff areas would have to be 3 to 4 times bigger, cars would have to be much stronger, etc, etc.
That's because Americans love to call themselves "World" Champions at sports only we/they play. Basketball, Baseball, NASCAR, Indycar, etc. Nobody outside the U.S. gives a crap about that. You go onto the world stage, F1, Soccer, etc then things are drastically different.Exactly this! I love all racing and cars. No shitting on Indy car or drag cars by any means. They are all great in their own ways. I appreciate the track a bit more because I like to drive my Supra on one myself. It’s fun to see what I can do to make it go faster and keep it running at the same time. Mega appreciation to all these guys and all forms of motor racing ? ?
That is true and why they are called promoters ? I bet F1 will continue to catch on like wildfire over here. Just a guess…Indy 500 promoters call it the "greatest race on Earth" or some dumb shit, and it's not even in the top 5.
https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a...-like-kamui-kobayashi-are-flocking-to-nascar/Watched the Indy Race yesterday and noticed the NASCAR race on the same track shortly after, so recorded it for a Sunday snack. Had no idea the Supra was a NASCAR. LOL. Always fun watching these big cars on road track, especially when there is weather.
