Eyeballing the wrecked Supras thread, I wondered what
percentage of US car sold wound up as salvage.
Using the
Net, I found 2019=2884; 2020=5887 and so far 2021=3761
for a sum of 12532 in the USA.
By counting the Vins in the 1st post of the wreck thread
I find 40 yr.2020; 89 yr.2021 and a lone 2.0 for a total so far
of 130.
the % of salvage Supras vs sold hovers around 1% so far.
Is that significant when compared to other sport cars?
It would be interesting, at least to me, to find the correlation
between mods and wrecks, if any, and that between 1st sport
car owners and wrecks as well as length of ownership and wrecks.
Not sure if those numbers would mean anything concrete
aside from being interesting to see.
