Hi Supra experts; I'm looking to get a Supra, specifically a '20 for the tuneable ECU. But I also like the look of the Jarama Race Track edition, and wonder on the possibility of it having said ECU; or would its release be too late to get the pre 06/20 ECU? Earliest registered Jarama edition I see is May '21.

I see there was also talk that this version is just a normal supra ie. not pro as it doesnt have wireless charging or HUD; although not sure if I'd miss those for the '22 version I test drove.

Any help is appreciated

You would need to check the production date of the ecu. But if the car was produced in May or 21 the ecu is probably past 6/20

Yes, I understand that; but wondered if anyone has heard of this edition having the pre 06/20 ECU; on the basis that it may just be a rebadged/comstic update to normal version.

If you're not into wrapping vehicles. The Jarama can be a great Supra. It has a beautiful color. The Jarama is sold as non-premium. I guess in the UK that means non-pro.

This comes with some drawbacks as the vehicle will not come with wireless charging, "premium" JBL sound system and HUD.

To be honest. I never had a feeling I missed these features on my Jarama. For the sake of it being a special edition, you could buy it. But other routes are maybe interesting aswell for you like any other color + wrapping, for instance. I personally would not have bought the Jarama if it was a lot more expensive than a non special edition.

My ecu date is of february 2021. Have not contacted any tuner yet. Most likely it is untuneable unless going the Femto clone or maybe the above mentioned Litchfield route.

I had a small write-up with more info here: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/to...arama-racetrack-edition-info.8153/post-140248

I keep meaning to check the date on mine. I'll check the ECU this weekend and report back.

One thing to be aware of is the lack of the JBL system means you get a BMW "hifi" audio system. It has 10 speakers, and the head unit outputs balanced low level signals over copper wiring to the amp. This is despite the tech documents stating the signal path goes over the MOST bus digitally on all 10-12 speaker cars, so that's a bit weird. Anyway, at least on my car that causes a pretty irritating hum and hiss to come from the speakers whenever the car is powered (not engine-on). It's drowned out by road noise to a degree, but the pitch is grating on long journeys, like tinnitus.

I have a whole thread about this and I'm now replacing the amp and recoding the head unit to output digitally over MOST to correct the issue.
