Quick intro, Names Pat, Live in south Jersey, Been lurking for a while, Bought my 21 premium in September and have loved every minute of seat time these past 5700 miles.

Done a lot of debating between the awe track edition or Kooks Resonator and Muffler delete and decided to go with the Kooks. Nothing against the AWE exhaust at all, Its beautiful and I'm super jelly of those tips they come with, However I have dealt with Kooks products before and knew what to expect

Installed it today and I am very happy with my decision. The fitment was perfect and the quality of the piping was as well. Sounds much better than stock in my opinion and can get pretty loud if needed to be. In standard or sport the exhaust has a very low rumble but at w.o.t. she just sounds angry. Not raspy, Not tingy, Deep and growling sounds the whole time with no real cabin drone. In the lower rpm range the car is still quiet enough to not disturb suburban neighborhoods, but once you get into the throttle the exhaust note wakes up and pleases the ears. On decell and downshifts the burbles are very throaty compared to stock and tend to be a bit more exaggerated.

I only have the 2 pics from the install right now as after we got done the weather was too crappy to take more. Will try and get some good pics and sound clips/videos over the next few days.

Now in the future I have to decide catted or non catted downpipe, but that decision cant even be made until after I see if my ECU is locked or not.

Depending upon when your car was manufactured, you may want to skip the catless as you won't be able to tune it and will always have a check engine light.

Plus catless with muffler delete will be obnoxiously loud and raspy. A good quality catted DP will give you more sound without the light and traffic citation levels of noise.

Awesome! Looking forward to the sound clips!

Echoing on what 2Cool said, I would definitely stay catted to avoid a CEL if you can't tune and to keep the exhaust note crisp

I just did a Kooks resonator delete and muffler delete system with a boost logic downpipe over the last weekend. If you go catless it gets LOUD!!! I like it but not sure neighbors do lol. My only gripe with the system was the hangers dont fit the factory rubber pieces worth a crap, and the resonator delete is just close enough to on occasion rattle on the center brace. Anyone know a solution to that? back in my GM days a lot of companies made a drop brace just for that reason for their cars.

Agreed with the hangers. They are slightly thicker than the mushroom tips of the factory system. With a little lube and some elbow grease i was able to get them in there good. As far as the resonator hitting the center brace after everything was hung we were able to twist the resonator before tightening everything and got some good clearance on it. Maybe the downpipe drops it just a little more. Wont know until I do one.

As far as locked ecu I havent done enough research on how to check them. Is the date sticker on the bottom of the ecu? Thinking of kooks catted to stay in the same family.

Tried uploading a video this morning. Will put it on youtube after work and link it

yea i got mine installed fine just a lot of lube and pushing and twisting. Just would have been nice if Kooks did not use the one size fits all approach lol. However a good quality system with great clamps etc for a really good price and made in the USA.

For those still waiting on more valved cat back options this is a nice sounding, safe warranty option (for 21’s & oil) as opposed to a aftermarket down pipe.

Pretty good sound clip of the delete:
