This thread makes me happy. Very happy to have smart people who can build prototype and build stuff for our platform. You all rock.
Hey thanks so much man, I wouldn't call myself smart, just good at googling 😂

Also, keep an eye out for another thread I'll be posting in a week or so on a 3d printed aimgain rep kit....here's a teaser 😬

Hi everyone! Bit of an update. I just got the paddles in and test fitted one. Oh man, the action feels amazing! Much better and much more positive feedback per shift. The nice thing is, you can be quiet if you pull with less of a sharp input. I imagine taping a bit of felt in between would also help.

(apologies for the quality, not sure why it only uploaded in 720p)

The fit and finish of the asher racing paddle kit is superb and quite solid. The one thing I might try and change is putting a spacer between where the paddle and the actuator arm connect to give a bit of room for my fingers while they are not on the paddle. Currently I can still do so but with gloves on I'm not sure if that would be possible.

The PCBs should arrive on August 4th so I'll hopefully have an update soon after. Thanks for all the kind responses, it's encouraging to see people interested in stuff like this. 🙂

I love the size of them. Similar to the paddles on a GT3RS. Perfect replacement for the mom paddles that come on the car.

I also wonder if coating one of the magnets in something like plastidip would cut down on the clickity-clack if one finds it annoying.

Oh! The shot of those spacers just made me realize...I could print those too 😅 ill give that a shot! Thanks for the inspiration lol.

And that's not a bad idea! I'm not entirely sure it would last a while but maybe something like a thicker vinyl or even some PPF film? There's plenty of ways to go about it I imagine.

Totally agreed, big enough to let you still make an input at most positions on the wheel without being insanely large. If anyone doesn't lime the size these paddles are the "GT" version. There is a "Formula" version that's probably the same size as the stock paddles.

I love this project. And if there is a finished kit at some point, I'll be happy to be one of the first buyers. I will also pay in advance to whoever can put together such a kit for me.

gt paddles - switches - spacer as p'n'p bundle.

Hey thanks! The only problem I might run into is figuring out which plug bmw uses for the paddle modules. For the time being ill have to chop the connector off the paddle module and solder them onto the wires from the Asher racing paddles. If anyone can help me identify the plugs and where to purchase them I'll be forever grateful lol

Yeah agreed. Plastidip would probably fail. And yeah, a bit of vinyl is a much better idea!
