Hey thanks so much man, I wouldn't call myself smart, just good at googling 😂

Also, keep an eye out for another thread I'll be posting in a week or so on a 3d printed aimgain rep kit....here's a teaser 😬

Im so in for a set of these spats!! Exactly what I’m looking for just that small piece.

Also extremely interested in the paddles - it seems like the G80 wheels haven’t been fully figured out on the A90 yet and this is an awesome alternative that would still work on both wheels!

Hey everyone! Got an exciting update for you all.

First off, apologies for taking so long. Visiting family and starting a new job (at Bosch btw, so give me a few weeks and I'll unlock everyone's ECU, jk 😉) has taken up a majority of my time.

Anyway, couple things.

1. The connectors finally came in from ebay. They were supposed to get here on the 31st but showed up a couple days ago! So I'll finally be able to test if this will work. Hopefully sometime this week!

2. I modified the paddle mounting plates based on your feedback. Now it angles the paddles away from the rim of the wheel giving more space for your hands, especially with gloves on. I feel like it allows the fingers to go from clicking a gear to back on the wheel fairly quickly. In addition, I thickened the center mounting point and added nutserts that are melted into the plastic so there should be little concern for breakage.

3. I've been working with Atlas Core Carbon Fiber, aka irixyoctane on the supramkv forums on possibly offering carbon paddles. He graciously sent out a sample to check fitment and such (just a note, the final paddles will be twice as thick and have essentially zero flex). Attached is a close representation of the paddle originally used in Eco-Lap's video and fits quite well! Depending on interest we can also look into other shapes and designs. If you're looking for dry carbon for your supra send him a DM!

4. With all that said, there is one minor setback, the PCBs I designed don't quite fit through the hole in the wheel where the cables are supposed to fish through. Not a huge deal for me, just means I'll have to solder it back on in the car. But obviously for the end product I'll have to make it a bit slimmer to be a plug-and-play kit. Just means a bit of extra wait time for redesigned PCBs.

Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have the results and maybe even run the car on track with them!

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the update! Angling the plates is a great solution to the spacing problem! Awesome progress!

No prob! Thanks for suggesting the nutsert idea. And yeah irixyoctane and I were discussing adding an angled flange on the paddles when it dawned on me I could probably get 10-20° of angle just by changing the plates! The current version is 20° depending on want I could include a few angles but I think 20-22.5 would be the max.

Thanks!

I had to chuckle that one of the selling points of the Weissach Pack for the newly announced 992 GT3 RS is "magnetic paddle shifters". That pack is optional for an additional low low $33,250!

Any updates on the progress of the paddle shifters?
Ahh thanks for reminding me!

Unfortunately I've decided to end the development on these. A couple days ago someone posted a thread originally from a bmw forum detailing a custom magnetic paddle shifter setup specifically made for bmw/supra wheels. It fits much better than anything I could muster simply due to the design of the shifter modules themselves. They are fairly tall so it would take a ton of Angling and such to get it to feel natural. The ones posted are much lower in profile and you can specifically order them for our wheel. In addition for an extra $25 you can get billed aluminum paddles PLUS 2 carbon paddles. I believe you can sign up for pre-order pricing for $320. I'll add the link in a sec.

EDIT: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/madtrace-jqwerks-magnetic-paddle-shifters.14769/#post-223022

there's the link!

I apologize for not getting anything out in time. Family and starting a new job definitely took up a bulk of my time. I sincerely appreciate everyone's input! I'm starting to build up some inventory on the 3d printed spats and other aimgain style parts so keep an eye out!

Also, just as another lil update. I tried posting a "for sale" thread with my 3d printed spats but it got taken down for being an unauthorized rep :/ so not sure how to go forward with these.

What are you selling them for?
