Just a quick shout out to Philip at Berktuning.com for this amazing new steering wheel. Great service and I’m loving the upgrade. The quality is top notch, I’m that person with an eye for detail and this wheel and horn cover was built with care. It also retains a OEM core for peace of mind when it comes to safety. How is the back? Does it have the empty space for the paddle shifters? Or is it a true MT core?

And when you got it, were the openings on the underside for the airbag spring open or still sealed from the factory?

It had the slots for the Auto. But I actually wanted that for if I sell the car way down the road. But I know what you mean. You don’t feel it at all but you can request a manual core. And I didn’t install it so I’m not sure if the spring was open or sealed. I was told by my mechanic and watching some YouTube vids that the wheel can be a tough removal and install. At least at my skill level. Hope that helps.

Not the spring core. On the back of the wheel there’s a little - mark where you puncture it to insert your tool to press the spring.

It was broken through with small slits. It’s not visible and my fingers don’t hit it if you’re curious. I’m pretty sure you can order it not to have that.
