Things are a bit different over this side of the pond.

Firstly the car is much more expensive over here to buy, Looking at $70,000 including taxes equivalent. So a bit of a different audience in terms of affordability.

This also means mods are generally quite expensive compared to the US market, likewise with availability and choice of mods too.
Not only that we have strict regulations to oblige to. MOT is due after 3 years of a new car and the emissions need to be the same. So exhaust mods need to be generally OPF back to stay legal. Even then just a backbox mod can be classed as too loud and the police could fine you.

And then you have the insurance. You must declare all mods and as soon as you do that the price can sky rocket. Some even do not allow mods and you may end up needing to find a mod specialist insurance provider to cover you. This can become very high when it comes to performance gains!

But this doesn't go for everyone! I love some of the builds people have done. I just have my backbox modified but would love to do more.
