Hello everyone. Picked up my first Supra from an auction that was in a front collision. 4 air bags went off, battery was dead. Removed the battery and charged it. Found out the BPD on the positive terminal is designed to kill power to starter after an accident.
I jumped it to start the engine and tried releasing the parking brake and it did not budge. Tried holding for 15 seconds. Tried putting in gear. This is a 23’ manual that doesn’t have the option to disable the e brake in the infotainment either.
I’ve ordered a new BPD to start. Is there any other electronic safeties that would keep the e brake on after a collision? Any advice or literature would be welcomed!

Your rotors may be stuck if they are rusty. Feels like the ebrake is on. Happened to me when I first picked up my Supra, washed it and it was parked for a couple of days.
Is there any indication otherwise that the ebrake is engaged?

Going to ask, you are PRESSING the button and not PULLING it, right?

It did sit at the auction for 3 months. But the red brake indicator light is on in the dash and stays lit even after pushing the button. I dragged it off the trailer with my truck so I don’t believe it’s a rust issue

Yes sir. Not used to an electronic brake but I made sure. I’m thinking it has something to do with the safety system locking it. I also checked fuses 28 and 32 for the brake
