Im in the exact same boat. So i took off the fuel rail to already find plugs in place. It was a nice suprise. They werent too hard to pull out. I Think leaving the fuel rail on would just ? secure all the plugs.

I took off the rail too but unsure if those are plugs or just place holders I’m a little uncertain they would hold up to pressure without the rail to secure. With fuel rail engine cover would need to be modified or cut so I just wanted to delay that for now but ehh it is what it is

You need to keep the rail on

The intake manifilold should be under negative pressure. Not sure if the fuel rail is needed. But i plan to leave mine on, until i get setup for pi

Negative pressure? Uhhhh. The manifold sees all the boost the engine sees. Those injector plugs will pop out the second you hit any boost if you don’t have the rail in to secure them.

Tried installing mine and the fitment wasn’t great. First, the ends of the two hoses from the back of the manifold did not clip into the oem connections so had to replace them with ones that fit, luckily I found some just slightly smaller. The other issue being the two metal brackets where the oem manifold was bolted on the dme side. They simply interfered and would be bent a little if manifold was “forced” into place. So I removed them since the new manifold doesn’t require them. However the manifold still had interference with the oil filter housing specifically the cap wouldn’t sit in the indentation they have within the manifold. No matter how I wiggled the manifold in, it wouldn’t clear it and would block oil filter cap removal if the manifold was pushed down to bolt it. It’s also a little too tight on the fuel line in the back of the manifold a little more than I’m comfortable with. Maybe others had better luck with installing theirs but I had to remove it and replace the oem one back. After a whole day, at least one positive thing being replacing the coolant?. Mission failed successfully. I’ll reach out to them and see if it’s just a few particular ones with bad fitment or if they have any tips. I think a different phenolic spacer than the one provided could make it work but I didn’t have any to try. Did try without spacer and that wouldn’t work either.

Curious if others had better luck for this part after a *throat clearing* 2 month wait(10 months) for it.

Did you end up getting the issue resolved?

I'm having same issues right now in the middle of the install. As you said, cooling hoses won't clip into the factory fittings, as if the taper is in incorrect and not letting fitting go in far enough. I removed the o ring and it still didn't clip. Where did you get your replacement connectors? What brand or store?
Mine did not come with a insulating spacer, just the aluminum 1" thick one. I tried adding a fiberglass spacer, but couldn't get it to fit with the manifold either. The hard fuel line yes also is directing blocking one of the rear cooling fittings on the manifold hose.

I'm still determined to make it work somehow, but I would not recommend buying again. Just spend the extra $$$ and get a do88, etc.

Ended up replacing the stock female coolant hose connectors with Dorman PN 627-002. Only ones I could find locally at AutoZone and Advance Auto. If I could have planned ahead I would have ordered PN 627-003 the 90 deg version.
I also needed to remove the rear support bracket as the previous post mentioned.
I struggled a lot getting the manifold aligned to the 1" spacer, since the are no alignment pins like the stock manifold. The evap and fuel lines are all smashed together between the new cooler rear hoses.
I think next time I'll just do the s58 injectors and HPFP upgrade. 😂
