Rear trunk spoiler removed

Hello all!

I removed my trunk lip spoiler and a few scratches were found after. Any way I can fix it as I don't want to try and repair the paint and make it look worse.

Depending on if the scratches are just the clear coat or through to the paint..
Without seeing them it’s hard to give advice..
But…if it’s just clear that’s scratched you can use a rubbing compound to blend
Followed by polish and then wax..
Best if you have a DA polisher but can be done by hand..
Try and post a pic..

Man.. whatcha use to remover the spoiler? A butter knife?
Either way that looks like you’ll need touch up paint.. looks pretty deep..
Rubbing compound may transfer some material into those scratches to lighten it up a bit but I don’t think it’ll fix it..
Can you feel the scratches with your fingernail?

Ya thanks I'm well aware of going to use touch up paint. Just need to know if there's any other method after using touch up paint to smooth it out, which pretty much a DA would do well on?

To answer your question though, yes you can slightly feel the scratch with the fingertips.

Before touch up paint I would see how well a compound and polish work..
I’ve never had great luck using touch up paint..always seems to stand out more then the scratches..

a DA will work pretty well, it’s definitely not the most aggressive polisher..
Most importantly is using the correct pad for what you’re trying to achieve..(ie..cutting/polishing/finishing)

These pictures have really bad quality, not able to see how deep the scratch is. I recently did a DIY one step polish paint renovation on my other car (NCFL Miata) and I can tell you that you can try this:

- "one step polish" compound polishing paste, I used Zvizzer One Step
- if above doesn't work, you can try harder polishing pad and paste, i.e. Zvizzer MC3000
- you can also make a "touch" paint correction using paint corrector and next sand the area using 2500-3000 wet sand paper. I did all stone chips on the hood using this method and it worked. After hand sanding, you finish the job with surface polishing paste on dual action machine
