Hey guys

Recently purchased a Duckbill spoiler which the manufacturer recommended installing using the pre applied 3M Tape as well as using PU Adhesive (recomends Sikaflex 221) .

When it comes to eventually removing the spoiler, dont fancy having to remove the adhesive from the paint.

Noticed when fitting dash cam, it come with Electristatic Flim to fit to the screen which the 3M pad then adheres to.

Do you think a simular method could be used on paintwork where you apply film to the area to be bonded with adhesive rather than directly to the paint work. That way, you can simply peel off the film with the adhesive on after removing the spoiler.

If only someone could develop some paint....film. SO it's purpose is to protect it from situations like this!

Ok ok ok ok...Hear me out. Sharktank. Here's my idea. Call it Paint PROTECTION Film. PPF for short. I bet it'll take off.

Lol....I did think that already, but thought PPF was hygroscopic on the top side, so thought wouldn't bond well.

Nah just use 3m tape without adhesive promoter, wipe with alcohol and apply. When removing do it on a warm day with enough heating applied.
