it certainly wouldn't surprise me, it seems they keep changing small trivial things on the car like the twist connectors on the knee panel, but refuse to fix buffeting.

You might want to contact bimmer code to see if maybe theres something you can enable through it because ive got the app and figuring out what some of the settings specifically for the instrument cluster actually do is damn confusing
It’s a “Function not Provided” from BimmerCode. ☹

you know what's strange? in EU spec, manual mode, not only do they have the gear they're in, but also displays a "Shift into efficient gear". polar opposite of an empty D

I don't think this is a EU thing. I have this enabled on my car through the options menu.

Was looking for a thread exactly for this, I guess Supra's with newer firmware are out of luck. Maybe correlated with bimmercode not working for auto-stop on/off -- to have it fully off, doesn't work and bimmercode confirmed there was a change on the newer Supras.

No gear number when just driving in normal/sport mode unless I shift using the paddles but that goes away after it shifts back to auto, or fully manual when moving the gear shifter left but that changes the dash entirely

I would love to remove that actually, didn't found any options to do so.
