I like to think I am on the more chill driver side but maybe I did make it weak with some launches, I ordered some SPL traction arms to hopefully reduce wheel hop in the future.Glad to hear I helped!
Did you have too much fun with the car and maybe they had been made weak?
I'm glad the axle broke at a lower speed versus being on the highway.
Were you able to get the old axle out? The plastic piece around the axle literally just clips on and will not be able to be used with the new axles, so you could use a pry bar to get it out if needed. Make sure you if you do use a pry tool it is hitting the edge of the differential and not hitting the seals that the axle goes into.
I was very lucky, I simply rolled the car back into a parking spot and came back later with a trailer to tow it home, the whole thing sucked but it could have been a million times worse.
The inner shaft was a pain to pull out (ended up wrapping two ropes around it lol) but I was able to get it out and the car is now sitting in the garage waiting on the new parts, I ordered the dust cover and all new torque to yield bolts I had to remove so once everything is in I'll be back on the road in no time
Thanks again!
