What is this wire harness for

Any idea what these small wires are for? (Purple, yellow/red, black). It attaches to the positive post of the battery. As I was trying to move it out the way to install a battery I tugged on it a little and a noise chime went I off. This is with the negative battery terminal already disconnected too.
