While reversing the car on the driveway, it rolled back a bit

suddenly the brakes got automatically applied hard and the car went into park

A warning came on the screen saying something to the effect of "do not let your car roll"

It scared the heck out of me

Can someone shed some light on this?

Was your door open? It will not let you roll if the door is open. You will roll slowly but will automatically park the car if doors are open.

Yes, door was open which I noticed later. Appears to be a good failsafe. None of my other cars had anything like this so it was a bit of a shock
