Electric motor noise under the hood

Anyone know what the small electric motors are doing. I hear them going for a couple of seconds when I open the door.

In for response I hear them too. I know they have electric cooling pumps but this is when car is cooled and only key is on.

I did call my dealer and spoke with the service manager and he thought maybe it was a emission thing. It's amazing that they don't know.

They are common in BMWs. I’d hear them in my wife’s 2017 X3. Totally normal. I’ve never researched into it, but I’d assume they have something to do with hvac
