I tried searching this forum but I didn't really see find this answer.

What is the loudest exhaust (preferably with some good pops/cracks) on a stock downpipe and no tune?

I am only wanting to stay on the stock downpipe for now because to my knowledge, an aftermarket catted DP will still void my engine warranty? Is that true?

Doing mods doesn’t void a warranty, there needs to be evidence that a mod caused a failure.

That being said an exhaust won’t really improve pops and bangs because the large cat in the downpipe is what is blocking/muffling it. As a side note, trying to increase that with a tune will destroy the cat even on an aftermarket DP.

But if there was anything wrong with the engine, can't they say the DP caused it? I feel trying to fight against a dealer, hiring a lawyer, etc is definitely not worth it.

I'm just trying to hold out for a year or two until I know there aren't any immediate issues with my vehicle before modifying it more

Most people know a DP is likely to not cause issues, but why not learn how to do it and swap it off before going in :) I've heard plenty of cases of them requesting the car go back to stock before they work on it.

People can argue “voided powertrain warranty” until they turn blue, but a dealer can always deny you service regardless. Modding your car is pay to play and comes with risks even if the damage is not caused by the modification. Yes, a downpipe will be the first thing they’d look for IF you had issues with your engine, turbo, etc.

If you’re looking for noise, almost any aftermarket catback for the 3.0 is going to do what you want. Fi Exhaust, HKS, Akrapovic, Tomei, Valvetronic, Boostlogic…

The aftermarket downpipe will not void the warranty as it does not stress other car components. If anything, it removes restrictions, making it easier on your turbo.

As for the question, are you looking for the best or loudest?
If you want loudest, do a straight pipe. If you want the best, I recommend Active Autowerke or REMUS

The AWE track is an awesome sounding and loud setup for the 3.0, even with stock dp, if you want to improve that without tuning or a cel, get the AA catted dp, no tune required and no cel. you will get even more noise and pops and bangs.

I had the AWE touring and absolutely loved it. Perfect exhaust with a stock downpipes IMO.

I hate super loud exhausts, maybe because it reminds me of all the 16 year olds with their mustangs. But if you want loud, i'd suggest the AWE track exhaust.

awe touring is still pretty noisy, I had the un resonated version with stock dp and it was a great loudish exhaust, nice pops and bangs on my 2020, but once I went catless it was way too loud, and sounded raspy and awful, had to go resonated which def helped a lot. still on the louder side of exhausts but much happier. and I'm 19 LOL, loud does not equal good is a concept many younger people have not yet grasped fully

I would get the HKS, but nowhere to store the factory exhaust..

I have space, but can't store it fashionably so its one of those things I won't be able to do in this life time.. watch, I'll be reborn into a fruit fly next and drowned in oil at a college lab.. then reborn into a grasshopper only to be squashed by a GR Supra going 140mph..

I do have a shed.. :hmm:

I really hope they can learn this sooner than later.

My neighbor's kid has a boyfriend who comes over (17-18 years old) and he has the loudest most obnoxious ~2010ish~ v6 Mustang. He thinks it sounds good and constantly revs it because he thinks im impressed when he sees me and my Supra. Like no... we actually just all laugh at how bad it sounds.

Any exhaust with a straight through design (usually on the valves side) will essentially all sound the same per my personal experience from listening to some of them in person.

Example: MBRP, Boostlogic, Borla ATAK, AFE, Magnaflow (with track configuration), MAPerformance, Titan Motorsports, or any other muffler delete style system (such as Awe track) will be loud and sound virtually the same in sport mode.

HKS (Hi-Power), Remus, AWE (non track version), ETS, Active Autowerke (later designs), all have a straight through design via small mufflers. They'll also be loud but will have a refined tone due to the small mufflers changing the sound waves. (Awe has a little larger mufflers so may be quieter)

Lastly you have exhaust systems with larger mufflers; Armytrix, Akrapovic, HKS (Super Turbo), Remark (I saw this muffler in person, the valve side looks straight but actually goes through a muffler to cancel out some noise) are all louder than stock but quieter than the above. These are recommended if going catless to reduce chances of rasp and not be annoyingly loud but louder than stock. These match well with catted sport pipe as well. However, I wouldn't recommend these with stock downpipe though.

Hope this helps

What if you sold the OEM exhaust? I know its not the most practical thing, but atleast you'll have an HKS and not have the OEM one around
