Why am I posting this in a Supra Forum?

Hoping to hear from MKV owners, granted I know I am silly if I don't expect biased results but thats ok.

BTW I already own the C7 Vette. I would be trading it for the Supra.

Thanks for the reply, tbh I am inclined to do it because I am getting the Supra at MSRP and new car ? lol.
I also owe $50,000 on the corvette and getting $64K for it.

A part of me feels like I need to take advantage of this market and cash in on the corvette but at the same time I am wondering how much value this supra will lose. I understand we would need a crystal ball for that but thats why I posted here.

I don't see many people going after the CF edition, most people find it to be an overpriced 3.0 premium with CF bits.

I will greatly miss the removable roof I will say.

My other thoughts are to just hold out until the manual supra comes out

I guess I am afraid to drop my $14k of equity into a car thats gonna depreciate right away, the damn thing isn't even numbered lol

If you're already thinking about the Supra chances are you're already given up on the C7 and waiting for that push. Probably already like the styling of Supra..

I honestly like the looks of C7 better than the C8. Simply put C7 is more of a muscle car...

Like David said. Well ok you just responded and answered some of my questions... So I'd say pull that trigger. If you can test drive one for sure do it. I'm sure you're not going to regret it.

Money aside what else is important.
B58 is no V8. I6 is loads of fun with the turbo. You do have constant power, all the time.
Supra handling is better. More updated inside and out.
Is C7 MT? Is AT a let down for you. (I guess not)

Any mods on C7? Any plans to mod Supra? From getgo Supra is powerful with lots more to give with mods. Beware though that you'll pay $4K+ to ECU tune with locked ECU. You can always opt for piggyback....

You have 350 in your name is that reference to GT350? Any interest in that?

If you can find CF at MSRP go for it.
Yes, you can get bits for regular Supra later on, but chances are you'll have to wait a long time for separate carbon bits. Will cost similar. Then, there's the decision period before you pull the trigger. So it'll take time. Etc..
If not msrp, it really comes to your definition of worth.

I feel that the Grand Sport is more of a street car with the Z06 widebody. The Z06 is quite wild. This is a hard choice in my opinion. But like others have said, if you're already looking at a Supra, you have given up on the C7 already. Test drive any B58 Supra to get a feel for it, the CF is just aesthetics. Or you can possibly wait a year or two for the GRMN (possibly) with a S58 motor.

I’ve had both. Traded in the C7 for the Supra. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I love the CF, and I am personally not a huge fan of the C7 when it is equipped with the auto, it sucks compared to the ZF in the supra. They are both great cars but the supra def feels more nimble and sporty in my eyes and is just a little bit better put together vehicle, I actually put an offer on a base 2019 c7 today that I may be able to get for a good good deal, just to flip, but I drove it and wow was it a let down compared to the supra, granted this is an auto non z51. but ya I love the supra and think for the money the power, tech, looks, etc is hard to beat. plus it will get cheaper to tune soon. Now please tell me more about this confirmed manual supra lol

Ive driven the supra for a few days (switched cars with a friend who owns one) should have never done that LOL it was all smiles, that AT very well shocked me. Always ready to go. It's definitely a different car then the corvette.

This thing is a gokart on steroids and wears the Supra badge (BMW or not) what's there not to love about it except some wind buffeting ...

Truth is I am not over the corvette.

Its raw, mature and looks sexy all at the same time BUT its a fat lazy boy. Though not a bad thing at times, where you just wanna cruise ( this is where ill miss the roof )

No I wouldn't get a Z06. For me the Grandsport is perfect, looks like a Z06 without the supercharger. Its already wild enough on the streets.

@SD_MK gotta say thats the best advice Ive gotten so far ! Still trying to get it past the wife LOL

@XtremeMaC Thanks for the detailed reply and Agreed ! Much rather the styling of the C7 over the C8 hence the hesitance to let go of my last model year GS.

I love the styling of the supra. Its so damn sexy. From what Ive read here in the past few days many people dislike or express bad feelings toward the CF edition (over priced etc) but the car looks AMAZING in person with the OEM CF lip kit and the interior.

DAMN IT

I'd get the supra. Ya people aren't pleased with huge upcharge on a few pieces of CF, which is most likely mass produced. Alot more nicer kits ie Varis which hand make their pieces.

This is a good problem to have lol!

C7 is awesome and so is Supra. I agree with others about not wasting $ on the special editions, CF, A91, Launch Edition, etc are all a waste since they basically come out to be a 3.0L premium with drivers assist package (what I have), those extra lil add ons can be had cheaper aftermarket if you really want one. And get a pre 6/20 tunable car for sure. Think it over and don't rush it, but you won't go wrong with the Supra and since you've already had the experience of owning the Corvette, maybe there's more value in trying new things and branching out with an import? Let us know what you do!
