This is a dealers car. I saw this car run through Manheim auction a few weeks ago sold for $41600.
Honestly I’m amazed it even sold THAT high. That’s insane mileage for a 2 year old car

Haha dam 50k with 82k miles. This has to bear either the highest or nearly the highest A90 in existence. Also way overpriced lol

Damn, I just want to see the service records and history on this vehicle. That'd really tell a lot on what can be expected at higher mileage, since this is definitely in the realm where things can start going sideways really fast in the not-fun way.

Very true! I’d be curious how reliability was

My biggest questions is the list below, I promise I am not speaking from significant experience on BMW products. Promise. (okay, maybe I am bitter)
  1. Oil consumption.
  2. How is the transmission holding up, this mileage is definitely in the range where a fluid flush is recommended for the ZF8 unit.
  3. Cooling system shenanigans, thermostats and water pumps
  4. Oil consumption.
  5. Valve cover and valve cover gasket for oil leaks.
  6. Checking spark plugs for any oil contamination.
  7. Carbon buildup on intake valves.
  8. Oil consumption.

Oil consumption I would def be curious about but with it being a 2020 I’m less likely as concerned as if it was a 21, the carbon buildup I am DEFINITELY interested in because that’s normally around the 60-65k range so I wonder if that’s potentially why they got rid of the car. Has anyone actually done this yet to get a cost? The valve cover should be a cheap fix even if it was a small leak and the cooling system I agree would be interesting. I had to e36 M3 and those cooling systems were always a disaster lol

Carbon build-up was primarily treated by walnut blasting, which was a $800-$1,000 job back when I was in the scene messing around with the N54.

Valve cover is not fun, was a moderate job on the N54 and became a fucking nightmare on my N62 motor. That damned N62 was a VC, VCG, alternator gasket and oil pan gasket.

Cooling system on the N62 still gives me nightmares, $7 thermostat causing high hundreds in labor to replace, and once you're in that area, you're replacing plastic water pumps (stupid plastic impellers).

Based on what I’ve seen for the vanos central bolt change the valve cover was removal of the injectors, fuel rail, manual fuel pump and that’s about it. It does not appear too time intensive which is a relief.

VANOS is damn near a trigger word for me. I think I spent close to 4-5K chasing down VANOS issues on the N62. VANOS alone was a huge factor in me finally declaring the car a mechanical total loss.

his is the best video showing the valve cover removal (without specifically looking for a vc change)
