I believe it's the external BOV that's got everyone cautious. Anyone who bought a $600+ intake knew they were happily buying a noise maker, and now this advertises a no tune needed sequential BOV.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how it works as I thought these cars had a BPV and a that a BOV was a no no.
Ahhhh-- I completely skipped over that.

can you please provide air temperature in stock plastic charge pipe Vs the Silicon one if possible?
for me metal charge pipe is not an option due to hot weather.

Has anyone here bought and tried this yet? I see that the Vargas website now has the HKS version available. It's tempting to try it but I was hoping someone else can give us their experience first. ;)

Also has anyone heard in person what both of these blow off valves sound like? Watching Youtube videos it didn't sound like the HKS sounded very good compared to the Raceport, but again those are just videos.

As to why? Jordan tune uses them and believe has recommended products from them! very curious, also from a conversation with Will @a90shop.com they are best for the A90/91 Supra, when compared to what's out there.

Just super curious as to why your tuner say's "STAY AWAY FROM VARGAS ANYTHING" especially before drop a cash load on products. Who is this tuner?

Plus anything has to be better then FTP, right?

The FTP chargepipe is fine, the stock charge pipe is fine up to several lbs above stock. They're chargepipes. I know a lot of people running a lot of boost w/ Pure800s in the Chicago area with FTP charge pipes without any trouble.

Chicago weather/hot, is not Florida weather/hot/humidity. Thanks for the input. However, it still leaves the question about the Vargas charge pipe.

Description
VTT is proud to offer the very best BOV charge pipe solution for the Toyota A90/91 Supra platforms. This system completely does away with the restrictive, and muli-connection stock charge pipe system, and replaces it with a single 6-ply, Heat Resistant, Wire reinforced silicone charge pipes rated at over 200 psi. They are molded for the perfect fit in your engine bay, while not sacrificing anything in the way of flow or size. They also completely isolate your charge air from any additional heat soak coming in from the engine or ambient heat. Another huge benefit is your vehicle goes from 4 connections to only TWO which are barbed and has many small ridges which dig into the silicone so it’s impossible for the pipe to blow off. This means no more blown charge pipe connections on the track or road leaving you stranded.

This kit ALSO adds a BOV of your choice for the people who want to get more full vent on throttle lift, and love the “whoosh” sound of a BOV. We offer Two BOV styles one is the Raceport Gen V, and the other is the HKS Super Sequential BOV. If you are looking for a more functional BOV to vent boost on lift, go with the Turbosmart, if your main priority is the sound the HKS will provide a louder sound. We have placed this BOV underneath so you can run your strut bars without interference.

Install is very easy and takes about an hour if you are inexperienced with working on your own car, can take as little as 30-45 minutes if you have had it apart a few times.

Dimensions for the pipes are as follows:

Hot Side Pipe: 64mm or 2.50″ on the connection to the turbo outlet opening up immediately to 77mm or 3″ and remaining a FULL 3″ to the throttle body inlet.

The kit includes:

  • 1 VTT Hot Side Silicone Charge pipe with BOV flange
  • 1 VTT Vaccum/Boost Reference kit with 90-degree barb
  • 1 BOV of Choice
  • 24″ of vacuum line
  • 2 zip ties
  • 2 VTT Branded CNC adapters to mount the map sensor, and Temp Probe
  • 2 VTT Branded CNC adapters for the Turbocharger outlet, and TB inlet
  • 2 1/8 NPT ports are included in the TB flange for methanol
  • 2 VTT branded T-Bolt Clamps
PLEASE NOTE: THESE PIPES WILL FIT ALL AFTERMARKET MANIFOLDS WE HAVE TESTED, SOME REQUIRE SLIGHT TRIMMING OF THE 3″ END

One of the points in changing the OEM charge pipe is that plastic collapses and has restrictions. Given this is silicone, won't this collapse under severe flow like plastic? Seems like it would potentially be worse.

It is wire reinforced.

@MarinTuned is my tuner and I've heard this from other tuners as well. VTT products have failed on more than one occasion while on a dyno.

FTP seems to be the go to atm for chargpipes. You must be thinking of AMS's charge pipe when they had a batch of defective pipes.

May be your experience from other platforms but our oem charge-pipe is stout. The restrictions are negligible at the power level the majority of us are running.
