New member here, put a deposit down last week with a dealer who said they will submit an allocation preference for a 2022 3.0 Premium in Nitro Yellow for me. They are the only dealer I spoke with who seemed willing to do so, and with what seems like the most agreeable pricing. They called me over the weekend to say no cars matching my preference were available in their last allocation. The next allocation is in about two weeks.

I'm wondering if the 2022 model year is finished, and they're already building the 2023's? Reading through this forum and other places online it seems like most if not all of the model year 2022 cars people are getting now (June/July) were built back in March or April. A dealer local to me actually has FIVE 2022 Supras on their lot right now that I went and looked at, and to the best of my memory most of those had build dates from the first part of this year.

I guess I'm just wondering if my preference for a 2022 will shortly become a 2023? It also looks like most people who put in a preference for a Supra had to wait months for their cars to come in from the point their dealer was given the allocation, which makes me think I won't see my car until the winter if not next year...

The local dealer I was at that had five Supras on their lot had "market adjustments" on all of them, not to mention every single one was drug through the dealer installed parts catalog front to back. So basically each car had at least 5 grand worth of markups on them.

They had a base 3.0 Nitro Yellow I was mildly interested in, but they have it marked at $65k and act like they're trying to "work with me" by dropping it to $62k.

Which is why I'm waiting and rolling the dice with a different dealer trying for a preferred allocation.

The leaked production date with the manual screenshot said the SOP was 7/2022 iirc.

That is what I was seeing, which is what leads me to believe my allocation preference will become a 2023... unless there is an already built 2022 3.0 Premium Nitro Yellow either on a boat or waiting on a dock somewhere unclaimed yet.

I also found another 2022 3.0 Nitro Yellow for sale in town... it is "used" with like 180 miles on the clock, and again the dealer is seeking $65k+. I'm starting to wonder if all these Supras sitting on lots in town have gold bars hidden in them somewhere.

The dealer I have my deposit at quoted me MSRP plus paperwork fees, no "market adjustment". Actual MSRP of my car is in flux though, as my preference was for a Nitro Yellow 3.0 Premium with driver assist package and NO additional installed stuff, but the dealer asked if they found one that had cheap stuff installed like trunk carpet or wheel locks if I'd accept it I said yes.

I might have to try walking in and ordering then.

i got my 2022 model year from a norcal dealer in september 2021. Around that time all other new supras i found being sold are 2021 model year. So mine was probably one of the earliest 2022 model year. i think roughly september is when the new model year starts to come in. If the supply chain/ port issues are better this year it may be slightly earlier but not much.

I thought it was all tied to the financial year so that all cars built after June 30, 2022 would be MY23 but I could be wrong.

And lets face it, I've been wrong before. Many.. many times. :)

September would be awesome but my dealer told me to not be surprised if I don't see the car until as late as April of 2023.....
