We need to talk ya'll. I hate the new gen of kids that are just starting to get into cars and are beginning to attend car shows. The ramblings of misinformation I hear off in the distance is enough to make me vomit.

"Nah bro, Toyota worked with BMW for the MKIV too".
"M3s have always had V8s bro, it's only the new ones that are V6"
"I don't like stick because you have to change the every 3k miles, and it's like $5000 just for labor" - admittedly, they may have been talking about an early Murcielago.

Jesus, what happened to car culture? Raise your kids right, for God's sake!

It’s on us to humbly educate their asses and be welcoming. Two wrongs don’t make a right. But yeah… some of the crap I hear them vomit out about cars…

I’d say it kills me, but I’m already dead inside so ?‍♂

I'm upset that I'm old now (34) and going to local car meets there isn't anyone over the age of 30, which then leads to burn outs and drag racing, then leads to cops being called. I'm starting to have ( get off my grass) old man thoughts then it comes to ppl having fun in their cars lol.

What about light bars? Can never have too many, especially when running off into the woods to bang your cousin.

The age old adage, lights before lockers is a tell tale way to tell when it’s a mall crawler

In my experience, And maybe it's already been said, my generation of "car guys" grew up working on and building cars.
Actually, it probably goes back farther than that. I grew up working on my bicycle. I grew up working on my ATV. I then transitioned into motorcycles and then cars. My whole life, I have been a mechanic of some sort. I'm old, so we are talking about 28 years of tinkering and building.
Every single person I know that is my age and is a car guy works on his own stuff. We rebuild engines, we rebuild brakes, We tune our cars. My last project, I had the car completely apart at least once. I touched and tightened every single nut and bolt on that vehicle.
The new generation buys a set of wheels, tires, and tire stickers, throws an Instagram sticker on the window, and called it a "build".
Add that to the fact that they think they are the shit because they have about 500 people that have traded follows, aaaaand look down on each other aaaaand everyone else, particularly those who came way before them.
They are disrespectful, they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about, and they make those of us whom are responsible look bad.
In short: They are mostly a bunch of idiots that ruined car culture.
To be fair, I have met two or three younger guys who seem to have their head on straight, and are in it for all the same reasons the rest of us are. So, hope is still alive..

Well said. And I too have come across a few really cool young dudes that reminded me of myself 20 years ago. Sad part though is that the kids that know what the hell they're talking about are few and far in between.

And lmao, most "builds" are laughable these days.

Kinda new to this from the social side of things. Soooo maybe I’m part of the problem. Case in point. All I want to do is steal DVD players and car parts, and drag race on public roads for pride and pink slips every time I see fast and furious and Grease….

I moved to Texas, and Yes. This is all I say, Yes. The car scene out here is ridiculous, and not in a good way. I could go on for hours about it really. One thing, they have somehow brought back underglo and think it's the best thing ever? And its on all makes and models. And LEDs on wheels. Oh yea and golf carts. I guess what was cool in the early 2000s is now cool again? Idk Maybe I'm just old. Also, get off my lawn.

Old guy here. Get off my lawn before I have to resort to a scorched earth approach!

I second the ruined car meet comments from above. Luckily we have several morning car meets that tend to be pretty chill so I go to those now. Still miss those weekend parking lot meetups though.

I also hate the street shutdown bs. There were several intersections shut down in our town recently. It ended in a lot of arrests (mostly ppl from out of town). It makes us all look bad plus I have car/motorcycle fanatic cousins who happen to be cops and had to respond to help disperse the crowd. They have more than enough to deal with on weekend nights between drunks and all the other normal weekend shi#.

Well, who can blame the gen-whatevers.
Everything transitioned from full on mechanical to all electric, all plastic f'ery under hood..
Can bus, what now. No I don't want bus. Is there can Ferrari?
1980s: My headlights' not working. Just changes the bulb. Biggest challenge H11 or H7..
2023: could be software. Let me try new firmware, well, it's calibration. No, it's the laser beam. LEDs kaput, it'll be $1000 to replace. But but I only want some light at night.. Tough luck, your night time subscription ended at 7:35:45 pm. Do two chicken dances, send $3000 to Bepto Finland to unlock Scotty laser. Holla at light goddess.
