Lol I don’t get why you’re so salty, read the OP. This is normal in the Toronto car market right now.

Guy is in Cali getting upset over a post in Canada. Enjoy your car and stay off this post wasting our time.
its not normal in Toronto its just bullshit that people in Toronto do... just let someone who ACTUALLY wants the car buy it and go get an auto... hell take it to a high-end dealer and have them sell it on consignment for you if you really want but enough with the bs...

Sign up early for an allocation.
Value allocation at $20K to get that price off a used 2020.
Buy used 2020 for ~$30K.
Profit.

Whoever "trades" this person still has to pay the markup the dealer will impose.
dealer markup is illegal in Canada on new cars so there will be no price adjustment just what ever the sticker price is listed as!

Hello

I receive my CU Later A90 3.0 6mt next month.

I am looking to get into a 2020 auto instead (stock or slightly modified).

Asking for cash on top, if interested shoot me a PM.

Sounds like a plan to accept the car.
Unlocked DME and daily traffic in commute.

If I don’t love the manual, I will sell it at that point. It would be stupid to back out of this deal.
Sounds like a plan to accept the car and drive it for a while and then decide to sell it or not.

Finally someone with a brain.

The bill of sale is signed at MSRP. No dealer markup.
Sounds like a different potential buyer will accept the car from the dealer.

It's probably best to just place an ad to avoid more confusion. I'm sure you'll find a buyer.

I have a brain and it is starting to hurt...lol.

LOL the amount of salty mfs here and idiots saying it is a scam is beyond me...

For all you numb nuts:

1) We go to the dealer and sign the paperwork into the new buyers name.
2) Pay me $20k CAD to skip the 1.5-2 year wait time right now.
3) I buy your 2020 GR depending on what spec/mods you have (not too picky)
4) You get a brand new 6MT next month at MSRP ($70.5k CAD) and I take your 2020 Supra off your hands.

If you want to complain about markups etc, take your sorry to the corner and cry about it.

this should've been your first post. you should copy and paste this to your first post.
  • you started with a stupid first post and are upset you're getting stupid responses.
  • end your name-calling, you're not persuading anyone to do business with your boorish behavior. seriously, you're a nasty person.
  • remove the supra from your profile, you don't own one.
congrats,

Why don't you just say you're selling your allocation for $20k because that's what you're doing. Also that's insane. Canada dealers can't do markups so now people have to deal with guys like you that are adding their own markup and making the process more complicated. I hope no one pays that. Good luck (not really).

Man this is wild.

Pay 20k over and get a free slipping clutch.

We are in the darkest timeline of manual cars hahaha

I wonder how much of this "slipping clutch" thing can be contributed to user error? Like young guys that can't drive manual but think they can and guys that drift this car?

I haven't started driving mine as of yet but I'm no noob when it comes to driving stick. Actually all of my cars are manuals. I drive stick everyday hahaha.

I think the combination of a CDV (typical BMW) and a low torque rated clutch (typical Toyota using leftover BMW parts incorrectly, probably couldn't understand German lol) is to blame.

Damn, sad to see the SupraTeam doing this to ourselves. This ran me off the Corvette forum. 😔

This would probably look better if you could simply sell your spot at the selling dealer. Doesn't eat at me too much, but if you read below, it bothers Toyota. Ford has similar concerns.

https://www.drive.com.au/news/toyota-new-car-scalpers-pushing-up-prices/

Drive what you want people.....
Not even supra on supra crime. It's a very common thing in the Porsche market where you get on a list and sell your spot when its your turn. That's why you can't do it anymore unless you got special connections at Porsche. People just want to make 'quick' cash while they can take advantage of it. Many dealers won't even allow a name change and will just give it to the next person because they can see through the B.S. Feelsbad but nothing you can really do when manufacturers are purposely limiting production to keep transaction values high. Many people are just wanting to make profit rather than actually enjoying the cars bc they can lol

Just for clarification on my part...
I'll pay you $20k CAD ($14.9k USD) for your allocation then I pay the dealer $70.5k CAD ($52,638 USD). That's a total of $85.4k CAD ($63,763 USD). MSRP is $81.8k CAD ($61,135 USD) based off Toyota's website. What's the dealership charging you, there's a difference of $3.6k CAD. I'm just curious, not trying to stir the pot here.
