Sounds like a relay/solenoid switching to me. How long before it stops? Is it always an exact time? (E.g. when car goes into full sleep mode) Also, maybe pull the engine cover off to get a better idea of where sound is emanating. (You may even be able to feel where it’s coming from) Fuel injector maybe?

It‘s things like this that would make me feel taking it to BMW would be a better choice as you have a bunch of mechanics with way more exposure to random issues with this engine. .
The length of tick depends on how long I idle the car.
If I idle and let the Rev drops, the tick lasts around 15-20 seconds.
If I just idle for 5 seconds, the tick lasts for just as long.
The tick seems independent of sleep mode, it just does it after shutdown.
Even with the engine cover off I still can't tell where it is :/

Sounds crazy I know but have you tried locking the car and listening for the noise? For some reason, mine stops if I do.

I tried locking the door but it still doesn't stop.
The tick stops on its own still.

Without hearing the vid, this is what came to mind. Hot cold hot cold, that's it.

Edit:
Listened to vid. Check your fans maybe. Radiator fan hitting something maybe? Just a guess.

I notice that the noise goes away when my oil temperature is around 232F ish.

I found this video of a jeep making similar noises

Dang. I'm no mechanic, but I would go with heat expansion/contraction on that video. BUT, reading the comments, he said it went away after a couple oil changes.

What oil are you running, in case it could be something to do with oil weight? Actually a couple ppl responded with the same "fix." (In case you hadn't read through em).

I definitely have mechanical noises and computer shit. The Supra is not alone. I also have a very quiet garage. It’s totally normal. At least what I’m describing. I’m hoping that is just it for you bud. When I get mine back from the shop, I’ll record the R2D2 clicking and buzzing electronic crap.

Isn't that lower than even the bad us stock oil? I think us has 0w30, which is water thin. A lot of us swapped to 5w30. I wonder if it may be the oil. First one I've seen using that weight.

B58 is designed to cool down over long period of time. This increases longevity of the engine. Quickly heating and cooling metals causes issues. You will hear tik tik. It's normal. You will notice hours later the engine will still be just a Lil warm. You can find this info somewhere... Engineers talked about it in the past, heating and cooling cycle of the engine n such. If I remember I'll post a link

0w30 and 5w30 are the exact same weight at normal operating temp. The number before the w is for cold starting.

What does yours sound like?
If you just idle until Rev drops, shutoff, and listen to the exhaust side near turbo.

I put a stethoscope, poked around, and I hear the noise the loudest in these components :
Downpipe, exhaust manifold, waste gate.

I'm not conclusive as whether the rapid tick tick is coming from there or if it's just louder in that area due to hollowness of exhaust and that it's a metal to metal connection with engine block.

I have found that the occurrence of noise is random, sometimes it's present when the oil temp is low. Sometimes it present when the car is fully warmed at 231F oil temp.

The pattern of the noise is always consistent, it's an on-beat rthymic ticking. Not random at all.

Thanks, mang. I always forget my tire and oil numbers until I need more. I'm a bad amateur mechanic, haha.
