God I hate Red Bull Ring with a passion. I've tried to find anything to like about it between F1 and all sorts of cars in GT7, but it just sucks. All the track violations feel like they validated my feelings.
What‘s funny, the media claims Max hates it the most. And he was vocal about it. I personally think he shouldn’t comment on it. But he did what he had to do. Drove on that fine white line exceptionally well. Kept his speed up without going over it like many others.

Good race, decent recovery by Perez. Once again showing the difference between drivers how effortlessly Max passed the Ferrari's while Checo has to really fight for it. It's those last few ounces of talent that make the difference.
Perez looks like a really good driver with an incredible car. But clearly not Max. Until someone rattles Max or RB has a mechanical issue, Max will continue to toy with the rest of his F1 prey. What a great race to watch!

The hate or admiration for Max will only intensify after such a show. That pit in fastest last lap was such a slap in the face to the other drivers and teams. Similar to Tom Brady throwing a perfect touchdown late in the fourth quarter despite being so far ahead. I get Hamilton’s frustration. It just over spilled more readily yesterday. There is no doubt the bullseye ? on Max’s back grew even larger. He wielded that Red Bull like an artist would a fine tool. Insane car control, doing exactly what he wanted/needed to do. To have that much confidence in your team and driver = well deserved ? (and most exciting extra point in F1 history?)

Very well said.

It's only on a sim, but I find the RB ring to be difficult to drive. It's super technical but when I get it right, it's all warm and fuzzy. The elevation and camber changes require your full attention.
The course is small enough that you can memorize it easily, so you THINK it's gonna be simple. But no.
I like it.

There’s no doubt it has to be the best car on the planet today. You ever watch the other team drivers & owners stare at the Red Bull ?. Admiration, curiosity & hate all rolled up into one. Something special is definitely going on. No one can put their finger on it except Red Bull. What can they do?

According to the press: “When they quickly realised the Mercedes didn’t have a strong rear end for Austria’s high-speed turns, they took out a lot of front wing – but that meant the car was sliding around into certain corners.”

Toto said it best for his driver’s over flowing frustration: “The car is bad, we know. Please drive it.”

However, Alonzo, Lando, Max were able to control their cars at the limits. Yet it’s the white lines fault. Not the driver ?. You hear the same thing in any sport when your team isn’t winning. It’s can’t be the individual. It’s the rules. It’s the referee. It’s the…. (fill in the blank).

Maybe Max & Red Bull will finally mess up this weekend at Silverstone and release some of that F1 pressure being put on the rest of the field ?‍♂ Regardless, the wife and I are loving it! Watching each race is far better than Netflix‘s Drive to Survive.

I hope Max wins at Silverstone. Just to hear the boos and cries ? it'll be glorious.
Yeah it’s one thing to win at your home track in a sea of orange. But if he does it again in the UK, it could get ugly. ESPN uses Sky for our coverage over here. Love all the new bitter sweet British slang/terms I’ve learning. The older dude is the best! He doesn’t hold back. Gets very “cheeky” when worked up ?

You should get F1TV so you can listen to the alternate commentary by Jolyon Palmer and David Coulthard. Much better than those idiots on Sky. Brundle is good though but the others are ridiculous.

something we agree on there lol. I do like some of the things Sky has, but race time I watch the F1 TV broadcast.

I might have to try it in VR. There's a spot on the apex (not the sausage kerb) of turn 1 that can cause the Super Formula cars to spin if you don't lift at it, and I struggle to see it on my TV. It doesn't upset road cars, but I hate that it ruins the SF lap times I'm doing.

Basically problems of depicting a 3D image on a 2D surface.

It’s a long shot but after FP2 we might see 2 Williams in the points!

They are having some fantastic practice runs! Be nice to see that team back up in the points. The commentators also feel pretty good about Hulkenberg & Haas again. Hope his car holds up this time…

Sure seems like the cockpit of the second Red Bull is about to get much more smiley in the near future.
