Will get some tomorrowPhillip, could you please post a good 'straight-on' or closeup detail photo of the wheels?
It can definitely be done yourself if you have the patience without crazy tools (besides the oven for baking the clear) But again everyone has different levels of DIY they are comfortable with. This shop belongs to a nice guy and we have worked together in the past plenty, he has sponsored some events of mine, so he hooked me up big time and it is always nice to support those who support you. Plus when actually looking at the time that goes into doing this the way they do it at least, I can see where the big number comes from. PPF I have tried and will not try again lol, cheaper for me to pay someone at this point haha. The wheels look great. I'm over black wheels but for a do it yourselfer the cost is outrageous. Personally I'd do them myself and spray them with a 2K clear or even clear engine enamel which is quite tough. Then again I refuse to pay for the application of clear bra's to the front of my car and do it myself. Last time I rang for a quote for application of the top of the line 3M clear bra the installer quoted me some crazy labour cost. I told him I couldn't see why I should pay a guy a higher hourly rate then a Boeing 747 captain earns to apply clear sticky stuff to my car so I did it myself. Turned out perfectly.

There are still dozens of us. I completely refinished the stock wheels on my old maxima in gloss black. Plasti-dipped the wheels on my TSX black and was going to have my Supra wheels refinished in black but was lucky enough to get in on the satin black oem wheel deal earlier this year. And here I am trying to figure out the best way to make my rims satin black and not gunmetal like they are now. I guess I'm one of the few that actually loves black rims, coming from the 90's custom scene where everything was chrome and alloy, black accents on a brightly colored car is the bee knees for me!
So as the title suggests, I took the plunge and decided to see what the OEM 2023 wheels would look like after adding some bling. After seeing some successful attempts with the two-tone 20-22 wheels, I decided, ah what the hell, as I was already getting a little used to the look with the TEs (btw they are not sold or being sold, love those wheels just a break) And well here is the final result. I think it looks 10/10 Against the matte white paint, and I could not be happier with the final result. While extremely pricey to do (local shop charges close to $2,000 Retail), I think it is worth it, these were fully stripped and then hand polished to a mirror finish, after that, they were powder coated with a very thick and protective clear coat (not spray clear fully baked in an oven/powder coated) to keep them looking like that for many years to come, this is why this process is more expensive then the usual just stripping people are used too with the 20-22 wheels. Feel free to call me an idiot in the comments below! but would love some honest opinions on the consensus of polished wheels.
It would definitely look awesome, I would love to see it on a CU car, #trendsetterMan that looks amazing! I had this thought run through my head but just didn't know how it would look against my CU Later paint.
I'm currently looking into it and will keep it postedIt would definitely look awesome, I would love to see it on a CU car, #trendsetter
Random question but do you have any issues going over speed bumps with that lip?So as the title suggests, I took the plunge and decided to see what the OEM 2023 wheels would look like after adding some bling. So Iām lowered a good bit and itās pretty tricky, on stock suspension I bet it would be bearable, but still a big difference from stock, mine is not like I canāt drive anywhere but any driveway and incline, speed bump I have to go sideways pretty aggressively.Random question but do you have any issues going over speed bumps with that lip?
I am planning on getting that Lip but my parking has a lot of speed bumps and don't want to invest on a 800-1000 lips if I cant even get out of the parking lol
BTW im on stock suspension
